pp.amorim In fact, none of these variants would not be better than what has already been used.
After a while, and you all see yourself.

Your crystal ball is looking into the future! :thumb: Although I have not decided yet definitively, as will cool the south bridge.

Wow, it would be a good idea, because the southbridge of motherboard is very ultra hot!

CPU Cooling should be done with the stock performance. One of the hottest graphics card was Radeon 2900 XT. I have a cooling system by this graphics card.

The difficulty is that the evaporation chamber has a smaller distance between the axes of the mounting holes than needed for the LGA775 socket. Therefore it is necessary to replace the base, just taking care of a safe anchorage.
Clearly seen that the ends of the cylindrical heat pipes soldered very poorly. I will correct it. All surfaces to be soldering and tinned, I cleared out. Even flanges of edges from inside.
I wanted to use more edges, so make out a second radiator.
But so many edges are useless, so I chose the best of them. It turned out one more than was the prototype. :)
The base of this old fan after the milling is perfect for my cooling system.
Took part of the milling plant. The remaining blanks are not designed for this project. Well, maybe just one - for the south bridge ...

    After lapping the glass:

The form of the sole well with the back plate for CM Gemin II.
    Drilling and tapping.

The height of a homemade the sole lower than that of Gemin II, so use with flat washers.
After soldering, for comparison. Later we shall remove oxide from the copper.

Here's one more heatsink ready to. :D

The season of removing all unnecessary has been started! First of all, the motherboard has lost LPT port. Then came the turn of both the PCI:
    Clean.
Test run the motherboard has shown that she is still alive!

Yes, yes ... I reveal my plans. pp.amorim, express you imagination :naughty: :D

Not the best for the slim version of the project location of nests on the MB - up contacts. On other models, it is agreed to otherwise.
Use these jacks as the donor of angular pins.
The lower edge of the MB would be free, so all that close to him, infer there. By the way, PATA and floppy slot are also shall be removed.

Very slim! And if you solder the wires of the power connector on the motherboard, but the reverse side, would greatly reduce the space occupied. My friend did it!

It's possible, I myself did so in the past. But now I need the plug connections, so the wires soldered to the motherboard is not at all.

Ochen haraxo! (Meha gavrutte chut-chut pa russki.) ((I hope I remembered how to say that right, Russian was one of my minor languages in college. That was nearly a decade ago.))

If I did or didn't get it right it's no big deal, this is excellent work! I wish I was more fluent so I could properly express how awesome this is.

    "Очень хорошо! (Я говорю чуть-чуть по-русски.)"

Thank you, I'm flattered. I had no idea that our language is taught anywhere else except China and the former Soviet Union. This is a difficult language, moreover, not all Russian know it. :hehe:
