    Morning Bit!

At the weekend I totally stripped my system to give it a good clean.

After putting it back together as it was, except the exhaust is now in the roof instead of the back.

Booted my system and the fan is now making an awful racket. Looks like the bearing has gone.

I'm currently running Sharkoon Silent eagle "golf Ball" 2000's 2 intakes and 2 exhausts. which ive had for about 2-3 years.

Running 2 notua fans on my NH-UP12

I'm running my i7 860 @ 3.8 so that kicks out a little heat. My graphics card is a Gigabyte 460 which exhausts out of the case. So the heat from that isnt really an issue

Is it worth replacing all 4 of these with something like the gentle typhoons?

At some point I want to upgrade to water cooling but at the moment I cant afford it.

    Any help would be great.

I know that Penetrator's are popular intake fans and come in may colours, not sure about exhausts though :)

I swapped my 1850 Typhoon for a Akasa Apache.

The typhoon is immense at removing hot air but the low speed noise was noticeable... the apache is practically silent at low and still moves plenty at high

I have seven GT 1850's running simultaneously and find them to be incredibly quiet.

Do you definitely need all those fans? What happens if you drop to one intake and one exhaust?

Yep, get the Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850 rpm...

I have 2 of them and they are incredible quite at 1200rpm, you cant hear them, but at
1850 rpm they are not that quite...

Hard to quantify. I found a single 1850 GT the loudest thing in my system by a distance.

You are quite close to me, you could always pop your rig round and we can see which is quieter :)

The 1850s are not silent, but they are quiet. Like N17 says it's difficult to quantify quietness but the 1850s are certianly not loud lol.

Even so, I've slowed my 1850 push/pull to about 1200rpm and it's pretty much silent; too noisy for me at full speed.

They are great fans and are not "loud" but, when on a controller with all my other fans, it was the one that made a little noise where the others were as good as silent.

3 miles outside Eastbourne, When I worked in London I used to ride thru East Grinstead every day! (Can't wait for the Bluebell extension to be finished :) )
