Great idea and very neatly done. Do you have any more information regarding the storage solution? Maybe a similar write up?

Thanks for all the compliments :) :thumb:

I didn't take alot of pictures when I made the storage, so a writeup like on the HTPC is kinda hard.

However the storage case isn't that complicated:

It's 2 hdd's and a blu-ray drive connected to a USB3.0 hub via a couple of SATA to USB3.0 converters. (got them off ebay)
The USB hub is connected to an USB port on the pc. Both the USB hub and the sata/usb converters need power, so I stripped the adapters of their housing and put those bare in the case (the yelowish parts in the pics) and connected all the wires to 1 power cable.

Power on/off is done by using a master slave power socket. When I turn on the HTPC the other ports on the power socket automaticly turn on, starting the Storage unit too. :)

I was wondering whether you made or bought the usb and power boards, thank you for taking the time to explain. Great project.

look what came out of the depths of BT... my old mod! :)

a1computers: Sorry man, I totally missed your question. Late answer: The usb and powerboards were all bought. The powerboards came with the SATA converters. All I did was strip them of their casings.

    Thanks Waynio much appreciated :thumb:
