Apparently my friend Quepee has some trouble finding the right piece of copper for the MarsII block. So me and an other guy started looking for it too, but till now no success yet.

It need to be 155x300x15,5 mm (Copper Cu-ETP?)
If anyone has some tips? Please! :)

    And here a 'small' update.

I want to try this DP to VGA converter to use the touchscreen.

I already adjusted the bracket once but I'll have to do it again because the MarsII is 6cm longer then the Matrix card. Also want to mount the Pump controller print on top of it.

    Measuring.

    Dremeling.

    Filing.

    Drilling some holes.

    Seems to fit.

    So painting it again.

Will be quite some cable management.

Also need to do the lighting before I start with the watercooling loop cause of all the wires.

Going to use this controller instead.
It's a Touch remote with RF, so don't have to place any IR eyes :)
Ik ga dus deze controller gebruiken ipv de vorige.
(Will also be used in my next project)

Glad I still had an old black floppy cable.

Nice afternoon soldering with my daughter.

She told me to test it before cutting it in pieces.

    Glad I did, found a break :)!

    Can cut that out now.

Epoxy layer is easy to remove with a knife.

Hmm my gas-soldering iron is too hot for this.

So got an other one a few days later.

Getting too much work on my neck :)

    Almost done.

Used some 4-pin PWM plugs to easy-connect it all.

    And some tests.

Lets do the bottom too. First had to remove some stickers and old glue.

    And done.

    Some connectors for the bottom.

    And testing again.

My 'simple' compact camera doesn't show what I see so tried to film it instead :)

    Till the next update!

Coming along nicely. Good that your daughter has experience with broken LED strips. ;)

    Nice progress :)

15.5mm specific type copper :eeek: can imagine it's tough to get, bet you'll need to get the closest thickness above it & mill it to the right thickness, but wow it'll be expensive but then again the GPU sure isn't a cheapo one. :D

Nice lighting, I’ll be sure not to bother with pre-made LED strips again & DIY it, waaaaaay cheaper & better quality :) & the ssd looks pretty crazy, UV reactive?. :D

I love the affect the LEDs have on the SSD too. I have to admit i thought it took me a minute to click what was happening. lol

On the copper front, you might want to give these guys a try. Their website states they do ETP copper, but the link to the actual products doesn't work. At least on the english version anyway. lol They have a place in Holland :D

    Thanks Nutman!
Hmm .. I wonder .. how did she know? :p

    Thanks for the reply Waynio!
I had so many tips today, really, incredible, love the modding scene!
Well Quepee told me that would be the best size, but off course bigger is always fine.
This project really is a money eating project (yes even with sponsors)
First price I heard for the block was about €145,- :eeek:
But at this moment I don't even care any more, really want to finish this one.

The effect on the SSD is actually a vice versa reaction :D
The red ssd lightens up with green and blue lights but doesn't with red light :)

You guys should see the effect it has on UV active coolant, almost the same as with the SSD.
The fluid only lightens with blue and purple and goes dark with the rest (think because it's close to UV in the color spectrum?)

Also thanks for the tip The_Crapman!
Had lots of tips from Holland too. Will put them all in a list, got like 10 now :)
    First mails are out!

    Thanks!!

Congrats on the MOTM nom l3p :) I'm changing from doing a big wall of text to visiting each log to say congrats, they were too wordy. :D

Heck of a premium mod though this, will be a very nice rig indeed when complete. :)

Here at home it will only have a gently red glow. ;)
The copper block is on it's way to here, will shoot some pictures of it and send it to Quepee :)
