I'm using the one that came with the connection and has been fine up till now. For some reason, my ping in BF3 has risen over the past few days by around 10 or so, which makes the difference between playing with or without lag on a lot the servers I play on. I get around 80-95ms at the moment when before I was getting around 70 ms. Would changing to a new router from belkin etc reduce my ping by around 10-15ms??? I'm connected via an ethernet cable, and the second pc is connected via a homeplug kit.

Unlikely to make a difference. Try a trace route and see if you can identify where the slowdown is...

That traceroute shows that the problem is with your ISP (OTEnet) since latency increases by 50ms at 62.75.4.5 which is still in their network - a RIPE lookup returned the following:
My guess is that it may be a filter or firewall, processing the traffic, plus a long link (presumably to a major Internet exchange like BIX in Amsterdam) which adds the extra latency . You'll have to contact OTE for an explanation and fix (if they care to provide one).

    A new router wouldn't help.

Edit: It may simply be that network link is getting more congested (pings should be treated as low priority traffic, hence represent a "worst case" reading), which could explain why it has recently changed - lots of Greeks accessing iPlayer perhaps? A traceroute to the game server you're trying to access would probably be better for diagnostic purposes.
