Hi is there any reason why I shouldn't Ghost my windows 7 install from my Crucial 64Gb Drive to my new 256GB drive. Do I need to worry about the System Reserved partitian? Is it safer to just do a fresh install?

    Cheers

Shouldn't be an issue if you do a proper bit for bit clone

Personally I use Macs most of the time so for that there's Carbon Copy Cloner and SuperDuper! (not sure if there's a windows version)

I would be happier cloning a windows system with an Ubuntu Live CD and just using DD or something with a GUI front end if you're not too comfortable with CLI...

I think there was mention on Tekzilla recently about cloning and they gave a roundup of their favourite apps for it...

You can use the built in 'system image' function from Win 7, it's in the side menu of the backup program. Create an image then boot off the recovery disc (or original install disc) to restore it to your SSD.

Remember to enable TRIM after you've restored it.
