Speaking of which, I also own a Master System. With Hang-on and Jungle Hunt built-in. And the corresponding Light Phaser. I remember trying to hook up the Genesis controller to the RS232 port, and wondering why it didn't work. (need to get my PC TV tuner finished set up... Dang Hauppage not releasing full Vista drivers for that PCI card!)
Recoil and Red Alert 2, both were free with my (dad's) first PC! (Along with Rogue Squadron and about 50 or so items of very decent software, software bundles are so disappointing now...) Recoil is probably my dad's favorite game ever, alongside Rogue Squadron, he never really liked Red Alert, couldn't get into RTS's apparently.
Super Mario Bros. On the original NES. Cart and everything. I was but a wee boy. I'm not that old. But man those were the days. I wonder if they still have that NES. Thing was awesome.
There was a little hidden maze game in the master system 1 but i'm buggered if i can remember how to open it up now
Something on PS1, but I haven't a clue what. I owned over a hundred PS1 games so remembering which was first after such a length of time is difficult Edit: Wait a minute...did Hercules come free with PS1s? If so, that was my first.
First video game I ever played was pacman, but I remember the were loads of other classics in that arcade like donkey kong, tetris and arkanoid. One day they brought double dragon and tehkan world cup and everyone was like "WHOA"! Can't believe I just remembered tehkan world cup. All the time you'd hear some guy asking "what's tehkan?" and the answer was always "lol I dunno". To this day, I still don't know what tehkan means. truestory.jpg I think you had to hold left, A+B while switching on the console or something like that. It was called snail maze.
* Gets out of his rocking chair * You whippersnappers have no idea. Probably one of the first, if not the first, has to be Space Invaders in the Arcades. I also spent alot of time playing against my brother in my Great-Uncles RAF club, while my parents and Grandparents got drunk, on one of these: Blimey, it's for sale here. Quite tempted...
Indiana Jones - The Last Crusade. Was on some Olivetti PC I believe, loved that game. Never made it past the German castle though..
We got one of the 'newer' ones in around 1988/89, I was 4-5. Played pong and space invaders on it. As well as the below on a 2 tone 10'' breeze-block of a Toshiba notebook in 1990..
I don't remember the first game that i played, but i remember the first game that I owned and that was Alien Nations. One of the best strategy games ever
Same Literally blew my mind, played it about 5 years after it came out when my brother handed down his megadrive
This was my first game too... First PC Game [it came with the PC]... stupid bloody screenshot won't load ...Descent still haven't beaten the final boss on anything other than the easiest setting... and i didn't manage that until relatively recently... iirc there was also a bug which made the final boss [might have been decent 2] completely unkillable on higher difficulties... ... still have the CD somewhere EDIT: someone doing a better job of the final boss than i ever managed...
