Well I assume you keep all your guilds when you switch servers, otherwise their multiple guild thing kind of goes to ****. I'm all for joining a forum guild but I've also got one for the MMO Champion forum wanting to play on the same server.
£50 is a bit steep, but for no subscription fee it's not outrageous. Unfortunately I need to buy for myself and the wife and that's when it gets expensive. I am not too worried about microtransactions, GW1 handled it real well so I have faith they will do it right here too. Just be sure you are all aware of the difference between Pre-Purchase and Pre-Order as they are not the same thing
Damn some of those Pre-order prices are really hefty. Doesn't feel worth is especially considering many of the 1-use items!

going through the dat some more last night- still need to decompress the audio and videos the devs put some funny stuff in there- like a fish with a beard and man hands.. there's dragon textures you can make out and a naked asura around page 37 I'll record videos and stuff though.. seems like most of the community on guru is from wow- so not expecting the pugs to be anything but wipe material lol servers open in 3 hours- you guys are ahead of us lucky http://public.fotki.com/MissSamantha/mustache-mayhem/gw2-textures/
My wife and I are on Ehmry Bay. She's playing ranger and I'm messing about with different classes, so far necro's been my fave.
Played about 5 hours so far. It's not really my kind of game. It's that typical modern MMO for the ADHD generation, constant action, constantly running around click click clicking everything, you are never stopped for more than 2 seconds, nobody talks to anyone, it's just manic, everyone running around like headless chickens shooting at all the events which constantly pop up all around you. It's nothing like a traditional MMORPG where you are in a 'world', it's more just like an online action game. The combat seems pretty cool, I think for me that is the only attraction to the game, but it's maybe good enough to make me overlook all the other stuff I don't like. The low levels are too chaotic to really tell though. I think I need to reach higher levels to see how it works out and whether I'll stick around.
That's how it's meant to be, an action MMO. You don't need to talk to people to play with them, aslong as others are around you can play together, you create combos together to encourage you to play with others.
I've been playing all day today and I'm completely exhausted. It's completely manic but brilliant. I'm loving it so far. I'm struggling with frame rates though, I have everything maxed out and my 580's are only running at about 40-50% usage for sub 50-40fps. Its completely playable though even when there's a dozen or so players with mobs and spells going off all over the shop.
