I agree that the golden age of trance was '98 to '02 and will be all over this thread with videos as soon as i get home from work! The original Trance Nation by System F-Ferry Corsten (orange cd case with black sleeve) was a belter! Includes most of the artists mentioned above and more! EDIT:
The early euphoria discs were good as well. I used to have quite a few, not sure what I did with them though -- I might have sold them
GoodByte, my friend, much as i love Nero and John Dahlback, none of that was really trance! This is trance: Infact this will save me time, someone has playlisted Trance Nation 1 CD1 CD2
J'adore Trance, Electronica & Techno, glad to see alot of other guys do too & have similar tastes; my Youtube account is chock full of Trance playlists of various DJs & a random collection ( some aren't strictly trance- nitecore is a nice twist ): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zetJFRkV6I&list=PL09FD175319610A2C&feature=view_all Random collection http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiphp_xwfdo&list=PLB9096B25F1A4947A&feature=view_all DJ Ness http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRYamMSV3N4&list=PL1670C46B7109725C&feature=view_all Ferry Corsten http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9Sk-sBUAFo&list=PLD60741E96E0318A8&feature=view_all Nitecore http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4cUq27-g1c&list=PL0E86F3C353808DDE&feature=view_all DJ Lange http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PknkSQu_7k0&list=PL4CC0B790A2E98B20&feature=view_all Eminence http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEdB5xeJ9JM&list=PLB9C2B51AAB157B6F&feature=view_all TranceCrafter
Such good memories in this thread. Here are a couple more for you all. This one is my favourite dirty trance tune. The breakdown and build up give me goosebumps to this day.
Epic post, +rep for you sir! Can't Help Myself and God is a DJ were prob the two songs that got me into trance music! This godskitchen album was a classic and most of the album in the same vein as CRW - I feel love.
@Ayla song on 1st page : I am not sure Ratty belongs entirely in trance genre, but it is funny what Scooter can produce if they are not boxed by their own style boundaries
http://www.madtracker.org/modules.php?genre=electr_trance There MAY be a couple dead links, though. http://www.madtracker.org/compo/index.php 0 dead links, both .mt2 and .ogg formats.
Some more Classics IMO No good listening to this one on Head Phones. Crank it up and let loose. Love IT!!
Trance Around The World podcast from Above & Beyond anyone? I enjoy listening to this podcast every week: http://www.trancearoundtheworld.com/ Available on iTunes as well. I don't actively "follow" trance but I find listening to this podcast helps me keep a little current on some of the recent stuff.
1) I don't think you know what trance music is.....? 2) What you have posted hurts my ears and offends me. With the exception of London Elektricity ft. Elsa Esmeralda, which is beautiful (but not as good as love the silence). Still not trance though kids these days
A lot of whats been posted in this thread is 'classic' (older) trance. Things have moved on a little. My favourite ever track Another fav One of my fav banging tracks love Schulzy I've posted the short versions of these, worth listening to the longer ones if you can.
I can't believe no one has mentioned Gat Decor - Passion And of course the mighty Bedrock - For What you dream of (Full On Renaissance Mix) Many a brain cell disolved to this kind of thing!
I admit some of those tunes might be deemed as too housey to be trance, especially the last one. As other have said, check out Armin Van Buuren's 'A State of Trance' and Above & Beyond's 'Trance around the world' weekly podcasts if you're a die hard Trance fan.
