    Hey there guys,

    I have been building a carPC for a while, and im looking for some kind of bracket with hardware\screws for my slimline sony optiarc AD-7690H optical drive.

    basically its going to be mounted in the dash, and im going to have to dremel out some plastic and do some finesse work - the thing im trying to figure out is how am i going to cradle this thing? i am planning on building a flat area or shelf from ABS to sit the cd rom on, but i have no idea what kind of screws there are available for this thing.

    im going to bring it to lowes - but i doubt they have screws this small, and as long as id need them to get through 1\8" abs and screw into the drive.

    my plan is to mount it above the screen im going to use. i bought one of these;

    http://www.idotpc.com/TheStore/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=804&idcategory=74

    im going to affix that to the 'shelf' im going to make.

    but i still cant figure out where i can get some of these screws.

    does anyone have a link for them? preferably in the us?

    thanks guys!:rock:

    I've got a 7690H mounted in a Silverstone FP58 and used M3 screws to fix the drive into it.

    I've used five slot loaders and my preferred method is foam backed double sided tape. This stuff is super strong and if you want the drive to be removable, then make a caddy for it that can be mounted with screws.

    Used expanding foam round one dvd drive.. bagged the drive in small baggy first .. then squirt..
    trimmed off excess.. seems to be working still :)

    It's the same model as I have and mine definitely uses M3 screw mounts.

    Edit: Just had another look. I'm an idiot. I've mounted the drive in a drive bay that uses M3 screws. The internal screws that hold it in the drive bay are smaller and possibly M2

    I have the SFF-8552 specification for "form factor of 5 1/4" 9.5mm and 12.7 mm height optical drives".
    PM me your email address and I will send it. It is a 54 page pdf that will give you all the dimensions including this one:
