I've just purchased a Sony Optiarc AD-7800H Slot loading DVD drive for my Silverstone FT03 and I've run into a problem. The back looks like this: Looks like two sata bits? Is there an adapter I can get to connect this to standard powersupply molex? Thanks in advance
I can't really tell from that photo but just looks like your standard sata data cable connection and the standard sata power connector.
Aha maybe this would help Option 1 or this Option 2 I didn't even know these existed so I've learnt something today.
Ah, yes, you need adapters - my FT03 is exactly the same. I have the second cable that CrapBag linked to.
I prefer the ones that have SATA power ins, as molex power connectors need to go the way of the dinosaur and floppy disk.
Guys, still a bit more help needed...I ordered this one - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150808134871?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 Which I thought was the same but it came through today and it's too big!! Did I order the wrong one? It's frustrating, tried to get it slightly cheaper from eBay, turns out it will cost me more Are micro SATA and slimline SATA two different connections? The adapter looks the same!
That's the one I use. Is it me or does the one from ebay look like the Startech one? I'm using mine on a Sony AD-7690H
No need to apologise, it's my mistake really. Can anyone confirm this is correct: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Slimline-Sata-Power-and-Data-Cable-Optical-Drives-/310397814100?pt=UK_Computing_Drive_Cables_Adapters&hash=item484526c554 Cheers guys
I can confirm that this one works with mine The packaging is labelled as a Startech 'Slimline SATA to SATA Adapter with Power' Startech Code is SLSATAADAP
