I'm up for this, gtx460, gt430, 955(c2)@3.8ghz & 710x3(c2)@3.2ghz = 25-35k ppd if I put me foot down (depends on the WU's we get nowadays). Not very efficient I know, but it may save a life 10 years down the line.
    (I may drop a a few WU's from a work PC too)

    Folding as "Eldorado-Bit-tech"

Obviously, I'll change to the chimp for 10 days.

Morning everyone, tomorrow is the day the chimps get to play haha

There is still no official stats page at the moment, no one seems to have time to sort one so something is being rustled up using Google Docs I believe, will paste the link over soon as I have one :)

Hope everybody is set and ready to go? Thanks for joining in Eldorado, if you haven't already please email me for the passkey for CustomBitChimps (Email on Post #78 and first post) :thumb:

I have started already. With the hardware I am using I get an estimated 80k ppd.

Hope it is stable and I have no crashes or anything.

    Let's crank up those points

I'm looking to join the challenge but I'm new to folding. I've downloaded the 32bit client which was the recommend, even though I run 64 bit. I run a 1055T overclocked from 2.8 to 3.2 although windows still reports it at 2.8 cpuid shows 3.2 will this affect ppd? Also I have a 560ti would ocing this help dramatically?
Sorry for the noob questions, just trying to eek out the most to help.

    Hi dancingbear84.

I think windows only reports the type of processor rather than its actual clock frequency, whereas cpuid will show you the actual clock frequency.

As for OC'ing the 560ti, you could always try and see if your ppd increases. I'm not sure it would be dramatically different without burning it out. :D

If you want to monitor your ppd while away from the computer, if you leave it on 24/7, then you could use HFM.NET and get it to upload the info to your web space. (See mine here)

For v6 clients will it switch user when it completes the unit?

Got 3 v6 clients still not switched over.

IIRC if you switch usernames mid-way through a work unit the points will be awarded to the new username but any QRB (quick return bonus) will be lost. I may be a little out of date but I think the QRB only applies to A3, A4 and A5 core wus. It doesn't apply to GPU wus.

If not already done, my advice would be to switch everything after the current wu finishes using the -oneunit flag. It doesn't impact the race stats if we're too early but certainly does if we're too late. The 8 pm start time is for completed results to be recorded, not for switching over.

Please don't pause any clients to time a points drop for after the start time as this just holds the science up and is therefore considered bad form.

    Hmmm.

Well one has 24 hours to go for 6k points and the other 8 hours to go for 35k points.

I presume I can just leave them to complete and switch over automatically? I think I can survive loosing the bonus points just this once.

Sounds good. You may have done this already if you stopped the client to alter the config settings but v6 clients need a restart for the new username to 'take'.

Thanks for joining the party :thumb:
