Project sponsored by Thermaltake and MNPCTECH

    http://mnpctech.com

Today Im going to get started on the chest piece and case window.

I scaled the chest piece to the size I wanted then made a paper template that I later transfered to 00.80 polystyrene.

After each piece is cut out I make a paper mock-up and begin the raw construction.

All the panels are assembled and modelers putty is applied.

After some finish sanding and body work the chest piece is ready for primer.

Two coats of primer is applied ,sanded then a final coat is added.

Since the chest piece will be removable, i modded the back too.

The chest piece receives the first coats of color and slowy comes to life.

With the back side finished, Ill now spray the front.

I painted the front with a red metal flake from duplicolor and the locking bolts in a polished aluminum.

The Arc Reactor will go inside the opening.

Looking down you can see the gears that I created in a earlier step.

On the interior of the case I created bead welds to simulate the Mark 1 suit that Tony Stark first built while in captivity.

    Mark 1

I dont like to out-source any of my work but I had this backlite vinyl graphic made-up and installed in the case window. Two 12in blue CC tubes illuminate it from with in.

In the home stretch.. I just have the helm to finish ,mount and detail everything up and He's complete. The May 25th deadline is looking pretty good.

    Stay Inspired and Keep Creating!

This is such excellent work. You are truly a master of the airbrush.

I hope some company steps up and hooks you up right.

Love your builds and your work, really stands out from others. I would like to be able to work with the polystyrene sheets. Is there any tutorials with this stuff, any sites that you would be able to link me to with the basics.
