Daaaaarth... You knew that res would go rogue. Packing cello and duct tape, man! I'm that cruel uncle that gives the kids a box in a box in a box at Christmas, but the gift is never broken.

...Although in a few cases it was just packing peanuts in the last box.:naughty:

Thank God it was a skilled gent like Mach to win.

This is what I used . . .same stuff boutique companies like Origin PC use.

The way I see it, the large amount of packing material is actually what allowed the nut to loosen.

I'm a road-biker and what I've learned from maintaining/repairing my bike is that the less a bolt is flexed, the more likely it is to loosen. The idea being that hard impacts and bends cause the threads to bite into each other and do their job. But if the bolt only bends a tiny little bit, the threads don't lock in and they can begin to loosen. B/C the res was filled, every bump in the road could have caused a minute or so of gentle oscillations that eventually shook the bolt free.

More packing materially wouldn't really have helped IMO, thread lock or lock-nuts would have been the best choice for shipping, but then the res would be a pain to remove if Mach ever needed to clean the loop or put new hardware in.

</waaay too detailed analysis of a slipped fastener>

Easy lads. DB did everything right...instapack and all. It just needed a minor shakedown (literally :))

    See what I mean?

Blasted it out this afternoon and it fired right up. Still getting used to it and looking it over but everything looks A-Ok. Still haven't found those panties but I'll keep looking.

Probably need to re-read the work log again as I may have to add my own mod prints on this one (unless one of you fine folks can tell me if there is a way to dial the lights down.) You guys certainly don't screw around when comes to lights. :D

Only way to dial the pump lights down is with a hot soldering iron.

@Kayin: They don't seem to be working at present. I'll have to take a look.

@YGK: Thanks! I'm still getting it setup but might get some tips from you on Rainmeter.

@DB: Got it! Cool. I also found a Logitech mouse USB key. PM me your address and I'll send it back.

I noticed there was a solid layer on the pump top, might be that. If it's not that, I have another PCB here I can send you.

I have been watching this thing come together since the first post. (I read this forum and OCN at work.)

I'm so glad it ended up in a good home. I would have always wondered about it if some random person won it.

Like a dream :) I smile every time I use it. Unfortunately, I now curse every time I have to use my old rig but c'est la vie. Thanks again to all involved.
