Uhm, I have to respectfully disagree with pretty much everyone - this is quite possibly the worst collection of "mods" I've seen, they're all embarrassingly fugly and seem a tremendous waste of both capital and man hours.

In anticipation of any "OMFG u do better stoopid H8r these are xTr3m3 an I think they're teh rool!!" comments, I will concede it might be possible to see the appeal here, provided I could catch a DeLorean ride back to when I was 9...

Hmmm., interesting. Can you tell us why this months bunch is inferior to say, last months collection? Or perhaps the month before? Or indeed all the other MOTM nominees?

I find them all very beautiful and worthy of being appointed the work the months.
if you do not like that's another story, but respect for the work of others must always there

This was a tough one for me, none of them really appeal to me much, but all have great workmanship put into them... hmmm... which one(s)....

dude. not cool. some of these have barely been started, and some are some of the most innovative mods i've seen. sure i'm new, but i've spent the last two and half months doing nothing but browsing case mod build logs. there are things that these guys might have planned that will blow your mind. it's happened before. if you don't trust me, look at, say, kier's past work. for god's sake, his work has gotten me so obsessed with modding that my parents are threatening to take my computer away. all of these modders are amazing artists with great vision, and they deserve to be recognized as such.

I didn't qualify my statement by month, so...yeah, not really sure where you're going with that...
I didn't disrespect the effort involved, but rather commented on the aesthetic shortcomings of the selection at hand (which is subjective, after all - I'm not attempting to change anyone's mind, taste or opinions). If an Electrical Engineer spends five months exhaustively assembling a piece of macaroni art, the end result is still just some crap stuck to the fridge with a magnet.
If a dissenting opinion is enough to throw reality into a tailspin, well, that's squarely a "you" problem so, please, act accordingly.

As a general rule one can usually expect to find a slew of clean, interesting and/or inventive mods on teh bit-tech; my assessment of this month's offerings doesn't change that, so unclench already.

Well you have been a member here since the start of last year, yet you have picked this particular month to speak up and damn the entries. This months selection of work is varied and good quality, and even if they don't appeal to my aesthetics, there is nothing here to freak out about in terms of 'they are so ugly I cant keep from posting'. As a general rule here, if you like something or have 'constructive criticism', then people are glad if you say so. Saying a whole bunch of work from hard working modders stinks, with no qualification, nothing constructive to add, basically without reason, and importantly, without being asked, well, just not cricket old sport.

    Ramble alert, eek

Attila said it best nice & short, wish I could do nice & short wording or stop myself from clicking submit reply sometimes.

I can pick out multiple great things about any 1 of these projects & any of the past projects bit-tech has had pass through & I usually do but it usually looks like a crazy ramble & this one probably does too so I'm trying to zip it on my rambles :D some say they like them but when I look at some of my rambles I'm thinking wow that dude is a crazy modaholic & needs to get a life & it's my ramble. :eeek::jawdrop::hehe: The horror. :D
BTW I already have a life & love it (the good bits & the crap bits) else I wouldn't be typing this now, I'm just not 100% busy like most people. :D

toolio & others who think similar have re-awoken the rambler inside me who was trying to put a cork in it. :hehe:

I get along great with animals, computers & any reasonable humans but I definitely shine more to creative intelligent humans & can tolerate some that aren't but not completely without at least getting a little bit annoyed sometimes. :D

MOTM is not the final article, maybe it isn't clear enough that they are all works in progress to variable degrees of completeness, MOTY mod of the year is for completed projects, this MOTM mod of the month is for promising projects just coming together or almost complete but have caught peoples attention for being sweet projects. :)

So to have a jab at how good they look & other aspects while in progress does stink like Attila said, a lot of creativity, time, skill & care goes into great mods/creations & an average joe consumer "possibly" hasn't got much of a clue how much effort it takes to do something like that just from the will to do it, my bro isn't even interested in learning how to maintain an optimized clean running OS or doing a basic system build yet he wants a kickass PC, if it wasn't for me he'd have to go to rip off repair shops but instead gets an awesome running system put together for free by me & it often needs cleaning up because of him letting it go pear shaped & he didn't mind buying a great GPU but wouldn't buy a copy of Norton ghost to make cleaning his system a ton faster & only costs like £10 to £15 on amazon. :hehe:

He has asked me multiple times if he should join bit-tech & rally some support but I told him no, it's a kickass community & I'd like it to stay like one, we would end up with too many toolio's if I said yeah get me support. :hehe: I'd only be happy with winning if I truly earned it so it would be a genuine honor if that ever happened, until then it's a genuine honor being nominated for the MOTM or MOTY, if I forced things to swing in my favor I'd just feel like I cheated so wouldn't really feel like I won so I don't go there.

He only just graduated to uninstall a sound card, not put it back in or uninstall all the drivers cleanly, but he totally prefers a good PC compared to consoles even though they are more complicated to keep running nice, I try teaching him but very little of it sticks, he's not a dumbass but only really applies himself to things of real interest to him & I'm a bit like that also.

I even inspired my dad to do his own modding on his bike & he installed the LED strips nicely & mounted some things nicely too so my dad is now a modder in his 60s doing an awesome little tour of europe, :dremel::rock: was awesome to see him influenced enough to not be scared of having a go unlike many other bikers who would take the bike to a specialist to win silly light show competitions & pay £300+ for a 5 minute job that costs something like 50p to do like his mate did, well actually it also required 4 mounting holes being drilled into a box which takes so long to do  some places rip people off massively if they can so get a clue & you won't. :D:dremel: There really is a lot to be said for being able to make or mod your own things, there are even people doing DIY space rocket programs so even the sky isn't the limit anymore lol. :eeek::rock::)

You also mention of it being a waste of money & man hours, that is real BS when I think of the ways some people really do waste their time & money, modding is highly productive & keeps your mind & body very much alive & kicking compared to say watching TV or playing too many games becoming unhealthy or even sleep too much or just getting drunk with mates at a pub every day or weekend or drugs or for a better word escorts which is a waste of time & money & won't be good for karma because all you get out of that is nothing good, burns a lot of money as well as usually being out of action the next day if you drink too much, I could go much more in depth than this but nooooo, this is MOTM & the modders deserve a round of applause for keeping modding alive & kicking enough to be able to pick out so many good projects each month.:D

So yeah, having thought about how some waste their time, money & their lives modders still rock big time. :D:rock:

The heck with it I'm going to do my old style ramble on the things I like about these projects in MOTM's but I'll try to keep it short & easy to read & not go off track into other things, I don't want to show any bias towards any projects just because the look of something isn't my cup of coffee, they all have high qualities so I try to leave my personal preferences out of it & just recognize awesomeness when I see it. :D

    Mod on everyone. :dremel::rock::clap:

And sorry about the ramble but I couldn't stay quiet this time.:lol:

    Terminator quote:
    I'll be back. :hehe:

Can't believe I'm clicking submit reply.

Well, I have heard many criticisms and accolades. I have also looked at each of these work logs. Again, some great work going on. In looking around the forums, I notice lack of any mod of your own posted here.

Something for us all to consider. Maybe I missed it, however with only 24 posts, I don't think so.

One more thing. My build was for my Daughter. So, your negative comments truly mean nothing to me. When I see an accomplished modder post a positive comment, that holds more value. When I see someone that appears to not have made a name for themselves make such a negative comment, I take that with a grain of salt.

Please, post some work of your own, I would really like to see something. I hope it is something truly original and eye catching. Other wise, if you can't give constructive criticism, why bother posting. I suspect that you simply put a quick rant down just to see how the community would respond. Well, if that was your goal, enjoy the laughs, but they're yours alone.

Your opening line states "a tremendous waste of both capital and man hours".
Well, man hours is effort, so that would be wasted effort. So, you are disrespecting the effort involved.

Geez harsh much as you said "OMFG u do better stoopid" I would like to see your work to see what you consider a Awesome mod!! I think all of these projects deserve to be nominated for mod of the month (still wondering why omega desk did not make the cut)the amount of planning quality of craftmanship and time that goes into these builds is astounding. Keep up the great work people :thumb: :dremel:
