How about a sniper limit? Like 3.

 

Depends on the map, and to be honest if you feel that a guy who's recon isn't doing anything useful. You can leave the squad and join another one.

I will also add Fast Vehicle Repsawn is going to be removed.

 

I've seen servers that limit the number of sniper *rifles* but have unlimited recons. That way you're just limiting sniper camping but get the full use of the recon class.

 

I will put it up for discussion on mumble and see how it goes. Though I don't see it being that bad at times. Depends on the map I guess.

Edit: Still waiting for Procon etc so nothing can be changed as of yet. Pming Votick again....

 

That said GUN/SCOPE limitations tend to be better...as a lot of people play offensive snipers with other weapons, which is not the same.

Did anyone else get a message saying you need to download this expansion pack ?? Cant join any gun master server either .

 

Yeah Close Quarters servers are live but no one has the client yet.

I agree to be honest, a variation in maps seems like the best approach.
Also I'm definitely going to be more conscious of how my jet play affects the cpc server. As always I'll be jumping on the ground if I feel that'll benefit my team more but I'll also do it if I feel like it's killing numbers. Fortunately with the much better balancing of jets against ground troops it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Awesome job Dom, the server seems to be doing well already!

 

pfft, i've been enjoying BF4 premium for the last few days. better graphics and it actually require a steering wheel support for the jeeps! now that's the kind of game i will play without whining about it on a forum.

 

For server suggestions:
- Increase the votes needed to choose next map, 1 is a bit silly, maybe 5. I suggest making a server announcement (I think it's called that - the green bar that appears near the bottom of the screen with white text) so that more people vote, not everyone pays attention to the chat all the time.
- Make server balance squad based so people playing together don't get mixed around.
- (This may not be to everyone's taste) The plugin/add-on that announces when players get kill streaks/multi-kills, I'm not sure what it's called but from my experience it's good fun.

 

I honestly don't think limiting what weapons people can use is a good idea on a ranked server - it's also against TOS unless the weapon is glitched (e.g. M26 DART). Snipers are already underpowered as it is so I don't see why you would want to restrict the number of 'em - BF3's charm is about different but synergistic play styles, taking away from that is not always ideal. (just my 2c)
