You get whatever you had in garage in the normal game when the test server first opens (usually a week or two before we hear about it as the Russian server gets the patch first).

However, you earn credits and XP at 10x the normal rate on the test server, and receive 15k gold, so progress can be quite fast. Obviously your progress is not transferred back, nor credits/XP or gold.

 

What are the new game modes like?

 

they seem ok.

the attack and defend mode is interesting. the attackers are having to advace on entrenched enemys who get first strike bonuses because they are all stationary which can be hard on the attackers but the defenders are all vulnerable to arty. i must say i prefer arty to be available when i am on the attack.

 

Is anyone getting a lot of crash-to-desktop since the patch or is it just me? I find it happens at the end of the round, pressing escape at the score and then everything closes down.

 

A couple of time coming in or out of battle for me.

 

Same here, presumed it was mods, but maybe not as the official forum has people with the same issue it seems.

 

Thanks, I didn't think to check the official forums. I did google it but didn't find anything. However, I run xvm so I thought that might have been it.

 

I'm getting that as well, no mods installed.

 

Mines not crashing to desktop just flicking mid game with the thing minimised. Have to say im finding it huge fun now taking out my SU100 and jagpanther so many people in French TDs. If im right the SU100 still has the most leathal gun I was doing 400dmg shots into the side of a tigerP.

Come to the decision the Ferris going to be a white elephant untill I get the final gun though I loose money hand over fist playing it with the middle gun

Has anyone signed up for the closed beta of World of Warplanes?

 

Technically the whole thing is still under a fairly strict NDA so anyone that is shouldn't be telling you

 

I can neither confirm or deny that I have been successful in gaining a place in the closed beta...

I was just asking if anyone else had tried or not.

No, really, I'm not in. Anyway, I'm having too much fun in my T-54, so I probably wouldn't join even if I had been invited, which I haven't.

 

I have a feeling warplanes is gonna bomb, so to speak.

 

World of Warplanes, I was in the closed Alpha for it, can't really remember much except it's not much fun unless you have a joystick or gamepad. The controls then with keyboard and mouse were rather hard to grasp, but it could of changed since. The planes themselves, I only played two matches in some crappy biplane, didn't really understand what was going on in the 1st match.

It seems like a game that has promise for flight lovers, but it's not my cup-o-tea, if you catch my meaning.
