Yep, I can pass 4.2GHz, but I do need software (If any?) to adjust the voltage, as 4.5GHz will boot, but it's not stable, as the bios Level 3 Overclocking only allows the vcore to shoot up to 1.34v...

Anyone have any suggestions on some software? :)

I seem to remember someone posting a link (earlier in this thread) to another forum for Alien laptops.

Have you tried asking in there?
Or are you far too extreme for them :D

I guess I should head other to that forum and ask around. :)

And no, I'm not too extreme for any forum. :D

So you can't increase it in smaller increments, its 1.34v or standard?

What do the temps reach at 1.34?

Pretty much that. Although Level 1 and 2 is slightly less vcore. Temps @ 4.2GHz with stock fan settings will reach 75c full load. With CPU fan at max then it hits 65c Max.

Temps are not holding me back. I'm sure with 1.36v vcore I would have a solid 4.5GHz. :)

As long as that 75c is not being transferred to legs then its pretty awesome :)

It will only peak at those temps in Prime95, other than that BF3 ran for an hr would see CPU temps peak at 60c with standard fan settings.

Anyhow with the design of the laptop, the heatpipes run under the keyboard, so no direct heat hits your lap. As soon as the fans kick in, you end up with a air conditioned lap, rather than a cooked lap. So this Laptop is designed well when it comes to cooling. :)

Jeez Simon this is a dig up :)

So you still got it? 3.5k

Mind you 6 years on it's probably still quite a capable unit.

Ha, isn't it just. I'm afraid I sold it back along, and went back to a desktop PC due to changing jobs, due to the ex moaning I was working away too much, before she screwed me over... :)

Absolutely, but it's been quite weird reading back through a lot of old posts. Bit-tech was a different place back then, and a lot of the older members have moved on.

I still remember the old CPC days, which I got upset when we got merged into Bit-tech, as I didn't join straight up here straight away. :)

i had an r2 up untill this march with 2 gtx 880m sli played pubg elite dangerous and gta 5 flawlessly. had nvidia not made upgrading the gpu such a hassle i woulda prolly kept it a bit longer.
there still peeps buying the R2. te rock solid build quality we wont ever see in a lappy any more. and not only that but it was really well thought out as it was easy to take apart and put back together.
compared to a clevo based 980m sli lappy i had cooling was also much much more better.

back then aw range was pretty sweet specially the m11x was perfect for on the go gaming

Do you know how irresponsible this post is! You will have me on the Dell page pricing up all sorts of things I cannot afford before buy something much cheaper but that I still cannot really afford. Damn you.

Seriously though, I hope life is treating you much better these days after all that happened.
