So what's the difference between this... http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...al/solidstate/128gbandabove/mz-7pc256bww.html and this... http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...al/solidstate/128gbandabove/mz-7pc256neu.html The cheaper 'laptop' version strikes me as the better deal on the face of it.
Nothing, Drive is EXACTLY the same, Laptop version comes with a small standoff to make it fit conventional lappy drive spots, and it comes in a larger box, and has a usb cable so you can transfer an image of a drive onto the SSD. Sam
Norton ghost with the laptop version that's about it. Basic version at £5 more makes no sense. Plus what Sam said (forgot I got those with my laptop version 830), USB thing is pretty handy actually.
Simple, one comes with Norton A/V. It's ads to reduce the price of SSD. It's the same principal as laptop that comes with junk. The junks are designed to drop the price of the computer.. just in this case it's the SSD. Basically, Symantec hopes that you will give their Norton A/V a try.. like it, and in the future buy their yearly license.
I found this too. When I bought mine, the full desktop kit was actually cheaper than the basic kit on Scan! It changes too. The other day the laptop kit was cheaper than the bare drive. How, and why? LOL
What is the difference between the following two and which one is better: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/256g...-3-core-mcx-nand-flash-read-520mb-s-write-400 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/256g...basic-kit-sata-iii-read-520mb-s-write-400mb-s Thanks, Sorry Blogins
Norton Ghost is a drive backup program, not an AV. From when I used it a few years back, (DOS version on a floppy), it seemed pretty good.
I didn't actually looks the product details. Apply the same logic. In this case, you'll, or they hope that you'll like, and tell your friend about it so that they buy it. Advertisement.
The new version of Ghost is nothing like the old DOS based version, it's out classed by free software like Clonezilla nowadays.
Last time I used ghost it screwed my old pc to the point it wouldn't even boot. (did it both times I tried it) so I'm never going near it again.
Actually, Ghost is pretty good. The only reason I stopped using it was because for some reason, it wouldn't back up full speed over my network. Other than that I found it very good. In fact, I've tried it again since, and even that issue was resolved in V15.0. It is every bit as reliable as Acronis, which I use now. If you have no back up program it may actually be worth getting the kit with Ghost, especially if it's cheaper than the standard kit as it sometimes seems to be from scan... because effectively it will be free.
