I just wanted some reassurance regarding my loop design. Are there any better ways of plumbing this in?
Below is a very quick version of what I am looking at.

Personally I would put a rad in between the block before the CPU.

I had though about that so I could keep the CPU as cool as possible. With the design above I was going for looks and ease of tubing.

Yeah depends on the case and how important it is to cool the cpu.

Is that res before the pump intake or out? I have that res and the flow really slows down after it enters it.

The case is a tj07 and the processor is the Core i7 3930

In the pic the flow is clockwise from the pump so the rad before the res will output to the res.

I think it will be fine, its very similar to my TJ07 setup in my signature below. Except i run the pump in the base behind the quad and along with the drain valve.

I dont have a rad in the roof though, just the quad in the base.

    I have a 2600k, Sabertooth mosfet and a 7970 under water.

I was told once, but don't really know if this is true, that if the speed of the coolant is good/high enough then then the coolany will be the same temperature in the entire loop, the temperature will only change 1-3C after every heat source..

That is correct. There are many (many) myths in PC warercooling, and one is that the sequence of components matters. It doesn't. As long as the reservoir exit is connected to the pump intake, the rest can be in any order you like. As the coolant circulates it will attain more or less the same temperature throughout the loop.

Thanks for all the help guys. Now I just have to wait for all the bits to arrive.

@bdigital just sent a wee vote your way for the Asus comp. looking good.

Well I did not know that, though surly the bigger the loop the greater the temp variation.

Not significantly --few degrees at most, which has a negligible impact on the temperature of the blocks and components being cooled.

That seems a lot of radiator for just the cpu and mobo, or are you planning on adding your gfx to the loop later?

I have the rads from a previous build so I thought it would be a shame not to use them. The GFX card is a GTX 690 and I had no initial plans to put it under water. Really im just scared Ill break it.

Oh if you've got them already then why not! Lots of cooling power for big overclocks :D

If I was to put the gfx under water in the same loop is it likely to send the temps through the roof?

    The block looks soooo nice

temperatures will obviously rise alot, I started water cooling my gpu and temps went up by 15C but thats because I don't have a big radiator and strong pump...

Oh and be carefull when assembling your block, get good screw drivers so you don't end up in my near miss nightmare .

Just ahd a wee read through the link there. Soounds as if you had a nightmare. Cheers for the advice, hopefully the two rads will help keep the temps chilly.
