The worst though, has to be that kid's paint splatterings that fetch millions at a time, can't find the article at the moment.

Of course you could do better. Why not? Only a splash of paint. You should be crowned one of the greatest painters alive, just like Gerhard Richter. Picasso was easy mode, Jackson a load of Pollocks, but you my friend?

Of course we all have opinions...

However when put across with no knowledge, information or education on the subject at hand, we can all safely assume ignorance and should swiftly discount them.

 

One fairly big artist here in Denmark made a small experiment a few years back. He set a painting up for sale as being his own and received much acclaim for the beautiful piece of art, that is until he revealed that the painting was made by his child daughter, and then suddenly it was nothing but the random splat of paint from a child.

It is quite a few years back but I remember it simply because of the irony in what he did.

We all have our tastes in art and opinions as to what constitutes art, and I say that if you are to splash out money on a painting al least find people who show a bit more technical skill.

Still just my opinion though
