And herein lies the basic fault of the start of this rabbit trail. "Science" is merely a set of ideas / methods used to test for truth. It is a tool and on its own it does nothing. It is also not the exclusive realm of any one belief system (as some atheists believe) nor is it off limits for theists. Many theists are great believers in the scientific method.

The immense complexity of cells on the molecular level does it for me. Things like bacterial flagellum.

OK, said my bit. There are many more things wrong with the "Dear Religion" post but I'll leave those out of this thread. If someone posts a link to a SD thread I'll gladly go there.

Actually, You are right - a few of them were quite motivating :thumb:

I posted what I posted because the UK Space program had it's only launch vehicle (Black Arrow) cancelled in 1972 by penny-pinching politicians.:wallbash:

Since then, our few space probes have had to hitch rides with others.:sigh:

Science, like other philosophies, is a discipline: a way of thinking about and doing things. Spiritual philosophies are also disciplines in that they contain guidelines on how to think about and do things. Of course both are specific to their own domains so can happily co-exist in a complementary way (as even quite conflicting thoughts and beliefs frequently do in the human mind) as long as they don't stray into eachother's domains.

We can continue this in an SD thread if you want, although personally: been there, done that, bought the whole range of souvenirs. Let's continue the demotes.

Because something is too hard to understand you simply fall back to 'god did it'? Okey-dokey...

    Anyway:

He made it nearly half way to space ( 100Km, as defined by the Káramán line ), so he didn't really make a space jump technically... :(

And now we all know why USPS sucks

So, if you ship packages, insist on tracking numbers. So you and the recieving party can confirm if it did arrive.

    100% direct, real, scary quote.

Still, it's nice to see that plotters still get some use in this day and age.
