I'm going to assume that the tourism austrailia adverts from yesteryear are all correct and your country is just brimming with agreeable people just dying to invite you over for a barbie.

The rest of the world has a form of people we call 'a$$holes'. They run amok for 18 years and then either get put in jail or if their family is wealthy, generally become your boss.

I wonder if those girls would still shave their heads if their own mothers or sisters were diagnosed with cancer..

    I say not.

That's the problem with bullying, it goes far past teaching a lesson. If it were as simple as wearing a mark of shame until the hair grows back I'd agree, but more than likely it'll end up as play_boy put it: a handful of young girls bracing for some serious abuse from their classmates.

I agree with the sentiment that bullying is a bad thing, and that it will likely go far beyond the necessary "Look before you leap" life lesson, I just can't bring myself to feel bad for the kids that did this.

It's not that they deserve whatever they get, it's that they're so entrenched in their fandom of this one, it has to be said, crappy singer (I do not believe he writes his own "songs"..) it's that they don't think twice about doing something like this? Do they really deserve sympathy for being so unbelievably gullible?
