    Thanks Pascal ;)

    Update!!!

After playing some games and testing it was time to strip the case.
First the wiring, which is quite a lot in this case. But quite logical because all the gadgets.

PCB and a lot of cables for the lights

The PCB strip at the top for lighting and power pump

2 of these for the lighting behind the HDD bays

    And some more cables

After all cables are removed, This is what's left ... for illumination

Also removed the Alienware mobo. Rams will by provided with black ram coolers later on.

Fan bracket for the swap bay

And the fanbracket for the GPU's

The HDD bays are easy to disassemble with screwdriver

Putting the SSD away for later

CPU cooler remains a beautiful item, so as previously mentioned this will be used again in this build later

    Removed the midplate.

    And mobo tray

Still dismanteling with only a screwdriver ;) Also removed the PSU

Later on this will be black

And the cables which will be a challenge regarding the sleeve job

    And removed the covers

Everything is stripped, so this is what's left

Time to think and mod. The idea is to put 2x 360 rads for the GPUs
This is not possible in the original case. Therefore I'am gonna raise the case using an old LL case where I have shortened the vertical bars and put it back together.

Mounted the Alienware Aurora on top and made a bracket around the lower part. Because the lower case is smaller I had some space for the HDD cage to place it in the empty space.

For the sides I have cut a piece of aluminum and bent the curves in it.

Bent everything in the shapes of the lower strip on the existing side panel. This strip is where the new cover is going to be mounted on.

    Done both sides and front.

After this cut out the radiators

All assembled and stick together with tape

    Shiny :)

    Made the covers black

And the end result after some sawing, filing, drilling, bending and pasting.

The new window is a great improvement and nice work on the rad base extension. :)

Good luck and hope you have fun, as there is lots of work ahead to transform this case into something great. :)

Yeah, that's the same PSU. I also know where to get spare wiring looms if you need it.

Good stuff so far, it'll be interesting to see what you do with yours!

Horrible price to performance, a record of parts failing, a very significant overheating rate, a rather poor case internally, the stigma associated with owning an Alienware, and the part where it's a $600 dell with LED's, a $40 presealed watercooler prone to pump failures and leaks, and an outdated $200 graphics card that they charge upwards of $1100 for.

Who cares ... it's about modding the hell out of that thing :D (And I'm sure Richard will!)
Also ... I don't think he bought it ... he got the awesome honor to mod it.

Don't get me wrong, the modding looks great so far, but as a computer, Alienware is utter rubbish, and that's not really debatable.
They're an absolute waste of money.
It's like buying a Mac (Whose only good side is the OS) and replacing OS X with Linux.
Absolute waste when you can build something better for half the price.

If they gave it to him free, then disregard.
But if he paid full price for one... :nono:
Especially when you could have Checked ebay and built a PC inside.

If you are not interested in computers, computer hardware and modding you are on wrong forum. :nono:

For an individual with only 36 posts when this was written, I think your getting off on the wrong foot mate. Try constructive critisism before you say anything remotely close to flaming :hehe:

Looking sweet so far Kier, asthetically I think this case has serious potential

I've been building PC's for a long time, and have been an active and respected member on many forums.
This forum seems to love horribly unbalanced builds so much, they're willing to insult their betters over something that can't be debated.
Part X received score Y in Benchmark A and is available for price D.
Part Z received score Y in Benchmark A and is available for 40% less than part X.

Bring that up, and suddenly it's flaming.

Weird, I thought this was a CASE MOD on a CASE MODDING forum... NOT a hardware forum... There's a different one for that ;)
Unless the hardware is modded, or an integral design element, I couldn't care less what hardware is in a case mod...

I really like this case, and can't wait to see it finished. Progress looks great so far :thumb:

For someone with no build logs on this forum, that's debatable.

    computer porn anyone?

very cool, is a mean looking case. would'nt gone for alienware case tho, there prone to spontaneous outbersts of decompression, creating a blackhole/supernova type phenomenon on ur desk bench
