Im looking at 3 Specific cards, mainly because of different brands and OC's... and the obvious change of Nvidia to AMD.

This will be my first build, so I want to get it right. :L

Any opinions would be great, even if they aren't about the specific brands (although this would be most helpful).
    Any personal experience etc?

At the moment Im really leaning towards the AMD 7870, because of reviews and ratings.. any reason I shouldn't? Prolems with AMD, anything that Nvidia cards have that AMD do not?

    Any guidance is great!

    Thanks in advance,
    Elliot

    I'd go for a 7870.

Any reason why you only want to decide between those two 7870's?

Is it because of the free games?

Anyway, I'd go for the MSI, it's only £172.79 in the Today Only deals on Scan.

The free games dont bother me, It was the price and the rating that appealed to me.
Okay Ill get the MSI, Thanks!

@sniperdude Thanks for the opinion man!

7870 is the faster card and the better deal at the moment. I'd stick to xfx or msi if buying AMD cards.

It seems that at the top end, at the moment at least, AMD pretty much have the green team pipped, although I'm not certain about their new drivers' performance advantage.

Onto the brand thing, MSI cards are rock solid, especially the TwinFrozr, although I'm not sure if that is or not, it certainly looks like one, although it's not in the branding.

At just shy of £190, that MSI looks a steal.

The Twin Frozr is slightly more expensive, and only gets 7.3/10 instead of 10/10 like the others do :/ (although the scan rating system is renound to be awful, I still dont wish to pay more for less, since I have no other way of telling which one is better)

@All Thanks everyone for the help, MSI Radeon HD 7870 It Is!

Thanks again for all the help, unless someone says the twin frozr is definetely better than the standard, then my decision is final!

even if its not a twin frozr it still looks like a decent cooler

just set up your own fan profile in afterburner.

EDIT on overclockers its described as the Black knight and in the spec its listed as.....
Twin FrozR Cooler with black shroud
