Mark, I've had a look through my white on black keys and I think you already have everything I have.

Posting my collection of mods and novelty keys:

The Japan mod is on hold for Margo and one of the red control keys is going to Lenny.

I'm looking to swap a black on blue Alt for a white on blue, if anyone is interested.

I still need to sort out some og the lighter shaded 1x1 keys.

Guys, what do you think about WASD keycaps?
I already asked about it on GH, but wanted to know your opinion too.
What I'm looking for is retro beige ISO set for my QFR.
WASD has their grey caps, which would similar to beige old caps.
Looking for old keyboards with ISO UK set sounds like a nightmare, so thought I would buy WASD set.
What do you think about them? Are they good quality? Better or worse than original CM QFR caps?

They are maybe on a par with oem caps. They are quite thin. I have a couple of sets of alphas from them. They are alright. I just don't much like the OEM profile.

Looking to get a mini travel keyboard (KBT Pure) but need it to be a silent MOD.
Would brown or red switches be better?
plus rubber ring or pads? Does any one have experience with this?
    Mow much quieter is it?
Would REDs register with a rubber ring at the bottom?
Since my other keyboards are brown should probable stick with brown right?

I have o rings on my reds - they're great.

No experience of anything else other than a short time with blues.

Surely reds will be quietest of all? Being tactile, browns do have an innate noise to them, although it's extremely quiet.

Reds and blacks are virtually silent if you don't bottom out; blues are surprisingly quiet this way too... the clicks really aren't loud.

I mean it, if I had to choose a switch right now I couldn't ... there are pros and cons to all the switches. I tried browns the other day and I found them a lot lighter than I expected; I think I prefer more resistance which is why I quite like blacks, but I love the very pronounced tactility of the blues with their click.

I quite fancy trying out MX clears.

What is OEM profile? What is the difference between OEM and Cherry? Are these only two profiles available? Why don't you like OEM profiles?

Cherry profile are lower profile - OEM are higher profile. I'll try to find a diagram.

The only safe bet is to buy four or five keyboards ;)

If you like heavy keypresses try a board full of super blacks - you'll have finger muscles like nobody's business if you can learn to type on those!!

NOTE: You will have to do some modding to achieve this.

There is also SP profile which is very similar to cherry but (I think) there is a slight difference in the bottom row.

SP caps profile diagrams can be found here

The normal profile is from the DCS family.

this pic sort of shows it. I think choosing the F cap for the pictures was a bit of a mistake, as cherry's have scoops not nipples (saucy). But you can kind of get the gist - OEM profile is alot taller, especially at the front. Overall - it's just a preference thing, if you aren't used to any other profile than OEM, you won't experience any problem with it.

SP profile is very similar to cherry. It's just annoying that SP don't really make caps with square corners that are the same profile-ish as cherry, they all have rounded corners.

Hmm.. when I started to use QFR I noticed how high are those caps.
So I'm guessing OEM will be the same size/height?
What difference in height is there between OEM and cherry?

The QFR caps are OEM caps so they'll be identical. Cherry caps are about 75% of the height - if you look at the third pic here you'll see that for the Esc row the caps are 9-10mm instead of 12-13 mm (can't link to the pic for some reason...)
