I'm in the market for at least a 24" monitor to use as an external display for my laptop. I have roughly a £250 budget. I'd mainly use it for programming with some occasional gaming/movie watching. Hoping for an ips panel with at least 1080p resolution. My laptop is a Dell L702x with both hdmi and display port. Any suggestion would be really welcome
There are some Viewsonic 27'' IPS models for about 200 though they are only 1080p. Otherwise, Dell 24'' 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 IPS models are both around 200-220. If you're willing to step down to something a fraction smaller (23'') you're looking at 120-160 quid depending on brand. LG and viewsonic do great budget options. Nasty stand on the LG but a good panel at a bargain price.
I wouldn't mind a 23" if I can get a good and cheap one. Are there any sub £250 ones that are 1920x1200?
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/23-l...l-hd-dvi-vga-hdmi-1920x1080-250cd-m-5m1-12-ms The stand is fairly nasty, tbh, but the panel is great. I was lucky enough to get the earlier version with a decent enough stand.
Thx for all the replies. As much as I would love to get dell u2711 I'll settle for now for that Lg display.
Not sure if you have pulled the trigger yet, but: http://www.ebuyer.com/285816-hp-zr2240w-21-5-led-s-ips-monitor-xw475at-abu Cheaper than budget... but smaller. Only 1080p. http://www.ebuyer.com/290234-hp-zr2440w-24-led-ips-hdmi-monitor-xw477a4-abu If you can step up your budget a little, the ZR2440w won't disappoint. Had hands on time with a friend's and was very impressed. This one is 1920 x 1200 and is the successor to the monitor I am currently using (HP ZR24w).
BenQ have a great selection. Play.com sells a lot of 24+ inch monitors at very reasonable prices... plus free shipping
