Everybody makes mistakes; it's just a fact of life. A reasonable course of action now would be to e-mail them back (double check the address), ask for confirmation, then send your details their way. If this is a scam, somebody put in some bloody good effort, so I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.
I sincerely doubt there is another Derick Mahoney around the place Jersey, Connecticut, these guys are British, all states are New York anyway loll
