So my old p67 mobo is dead, very very dead.
I'm looking for a motherboard that will take an i5 1500k to high oc's for 24/7 use (will be under water)
Whilst I would like a z77 board I'm open for suggestions, price range is £150 for a new mobo or £130 for a second hand one...

Depends on form factor but the gigabyte g1 sniper m3 is particularly good for over clocking. My friend (without touching voltage) although it looks fairly straightforward on his bios, has a 3570k running at 4.6ghz on a hyper 212 evo. Either that or the asus maximus V gene is supposed to be good for overclocking.

Maximus V gene? Bang on budget with plenty of oc'ing ability.

    Size wise? ATX and down.
is there much difference in ocing ability between a maximus IV or V (gene and formula)

What kind of overclocks are you looking for? My £80 Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H does 4.5GHz without any sign of struggle.

They are all using same chipset and designed to similar spec , your overclocking mileage is unlikely to be limited by mobo choice.

Ultimately you will be paying for the features you want on that board, number of slots, ports, wifi etc,

Agreed, although slightly out of budget at £170ish I think. Like mmvr said, what other features are you looking for as cheaper board may OC just as well but might be missing an array of input/ outputs etc...
