I have just set up my main computer for folding, it has 2 GPU's type 275's However this installer only recognises one of them can someone tell me how to start the second one ( it does not have a Monitor on it but this worked Ok before. the 275 that has been accepted has a "Paused waiting for idle" in yellow on it. can you give me an explanation for this? many thanks Taffy.

'paused: waiting for idle' means exactly that, it's waiting for the PC to be idle before folding

set 'Folding Power' to 'Full', iirc it defaults to medium which folds on CPU on all bar one core, and only when idle on the GPU.

as for the seconds GPU have you tried adding a second GPU slot manually?

Hi red Flames, it appears that I have to add the 2 GPU's in the old manner which I have now done the 275's being that ancient (like Me):lol: The Alien is folding OK and the secondary computer already has the ancient stuff in it so everything now ready for the off, many thanks

Sorry to hijack your post, but I want to run a GTX 660 and a GTX 285 on the same motherboard... Is this possible?

They'll co-exist but unless you can make sure that they don't try to Fold each others WU you'll have all sorts of problems. It is possible, someone on here has done it, but I don't remember who.

Basically it isn't advised to mix different generations of cards.

    No Problem mikemaher

Two things, 1) make sure that you give them different numbers, and 2) give a slight delay between starting them, I am using 2 x 275's

Ok, thanks. I wasn't sure that a 200 and 600 series would work together in the same system without upsetting the OS.
