Hi All, Am building a NAS that will be holding at least 6 drives. My primary requirements (beside having bays) is good cooling and cost. what would you recommend?
case size no big issue. only going to have the essentials i.e. mobo, psu, dvd and a couple of network cards.
A Yeong Yang cube has quite a few drive bays, TJ11 should fit the bill as well. ETA: Didn't notice you meant HDD bays. My Corsair 700 has at least 6 HDD bays before you even start converting the 5.25" bays and the price, cooling options and build quality are awesome.
I just built a nas for one of my family members in a NZXT source 210. It is a very nice build for the cost which is easily as good as cases that cost much more, has 8 hdd bays and adequate mounts for fans. I would defineatly choose that case again even if was not on a shoestring budget.
I bought a fractal R4 at Christmas. its got a silly amount of drive bays, the cooling is pretty good and its fantastically well built.
the Antec 900 any version has more then that and there are adapters to add more in the 5.25 bays.Antec 900 has the most option for internal/external I have ever seen.
As some other said - Fractal Design Define R4 or Nanoxia Deep Silence 1. In case of ITX you could think about the Bitfenix Prodigy as well (6x 3.5" and few more 2.5")
what was the, i think corsair, that just had 5 1/2" bays all down the front which you could then put the 4 in 3 bay converters in to get a silly number of disk bays
