Thanks :) Alsways nice to see comments like that!

The project isn't dead, I've been doing a lot of work in the past few days!
I changed the plans a little bit. Instead of mounting everything directly on the desk, I'll mount the stuff onto another plate of glass which I'm going to put in the desk :)
That keeps the desk a bit independent, and if I have to move it some time later, this will make it a lot easier...

I started with building a case. Here is all the stuff I used:

Measuring, slowly starting to get somewhere:

Back panel and side panels done:

    And the front:

The white stuff is velcro, so that I can take off the front panel to access the hardware. It doesen't look very nice, but I'm going to hide it later on!

Marking the parts where I need to cut:

    Done!

    Motherboard riveted in place:

    Yep, that fits!

Fan in place (I love those fans!)

    Reservoir also in place:
I actually had to redo the pipe from the GPU to the res, mostly because it was too long so I didn't have enough space for the HDD cage, but also because it was a bit collapsed.. the new one looks perfect :)

    Placed it on my desk:

Then I mounted the PSU and the HDD cage:

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...

    Still to do:

-Tidy up those cables a bit
-Connect the case with the rad/pump
    -Fill the loop
    -install the lightning

I hope to finish this one soon!
Thanks for watching & stay tuned :)

Looks great! :) I like it.

What about the cut-out for the I/O part of the motherboard? I mean, couldn't you line it up with the edge so there's not any empty space? Just a thing that would make it even more clean and structured! :)

How large is this case measured in centimeters?

Thanks! Yours is coming along good too, I just read the latest update :)

The motherboard tray is actually almost at the back. It's a bit wider than the board itself and because of that I can't put the cutout competely on the edge. But you're right, it'd look a bit cleaner if it was on the edge! ;)

The case itself is 65cm width x 40cm lenght

    Little update:
I've been playing with the lightning today. Here are some pics:

On the pictures it looks way more purple than it actually is. Really, it's just blue, no purple at all...

I just fitted a small RGB LED strip inside, just to test how it works:

I like it! Probably gonna place a larger RGB LED strip there, need to solder one...

I still need to get another fitting to finally finish the loop, I need just one more -.-
It looks like the Bitspower C47 are sold out in every shop near Switzerland, next one would be Highflow in Netherlands...
I'm probably gonna visit some plumbing shops and check what they have!

    See you!

It happened the same to me, I didn't see where this thing was going until now, maybe with a clearer explaination/preserntation you'd have got more replies, we were expecting to see your progress.

Very good work for now, I love those metal pipes and the light effects are amazing, but in my opinion the mesh case you are doing now it's a bad idea, it looks much more better with the rig naked.

Yeah I guess that's true. The thing is that this build evolved quite a lot while in progress, it turned out pretty different than I thought in the beginning. I'm not very experienced at all, that's why I tried to keep things simple and avoid using custom stuff. So I mainly used what I found in the basement.
The mesh case: You're right again, it'd probably look better naked. The reason I built a frame around it is to protect it a little. I'm a student, I saved up quite a long time for this build, and I can't really afford to replace parts. If I have it naked, chances I break something are much higher! Second reason is that my room is reeeaaaally dusty, and the frame keeps out the dust a little bit (well it's mesh, but still..)
Third reason: I have quick-disconnects between Pump/rad-case and the computer. So if I have to move it some time, it's really not more difficult than with a regular PC case, just a bit bigger :)
But thanks for the compliments ;)
Yeah metal piping looks so much better...

    Thanks! :)

    Put some thermometers in place:

    Filling the loop

Mayhems Blue Pastel - I really like it! Fits exactly the color of my sleeve..

    Loop filled:

Had actually quite a lot of leaks - no idea where all of them came from??
Anyway, got all of them done. I'll leave it overnight and check tomorrow again.

Now on to some EKWB/Mayhems awesomeness:

This is how the two parts are connected:

    A shot from underneath:

I have something really cool in mind for the front. I don' really like it the way it is.
Went to shop yesterday, they should be done by thursday ;)
I'm almost done here, stay tuned!

    Hey there,
    I got another upadet ready!

The idea I got for the front was this one:

I bought a acrylic plate that has a special foil on the inside. If there is some light behind the foil, it lets the light pass through. If there is no light, the foil acts as a mirror (I got this idea from another build, it was called Prodigy Mirror). That keeps my LEDs from lighting up the whole room, just the inside of my cage :)

Some pics (I already put the upper glass plate on the cage):

    The Deskintosh is finished now!
I'm actually typing this post from it :)

I'm gonna do the final shots soon! Waiting for my new camera body to arrive ;)
    Anyway, have some teasers:

    Thanks a bunch :)
I'm using Bitspower C47 fitting (Multi-Link SLI/CF adapters). In Europe, only Highflow.nl has them in stock, in USA I don't know...

C'mon guys, A completed project and no comments ?

Well done on completing your first project on Bit-Tech and you supported other peoples logs too. I hope the lack of comments doesn't put you off sharing your next build.

    Nice project +1 :thumb::thumb::thumb:

I don't think I would ever turn the lights on or open the curtains again. Lovely.

    Thank you very much!
I got some more comments on other forums, and all of the people that have seen the build in reality are impressed as well. And the most important fact - I like it :)

I guess that's why the build took me so long... I rather enjoy the sun ;)
I got at least some comments, and that is good :)
I didn't expect it to be so popular as the original l3p d3sk :D

    Haha thanks!
Yours is coming along really nice as well by the way!

You're welcome, What other forums did you post on ? links please. I'm just curious how your build went down on other sites. Would you say Bit-Tech is the a premium site for modding ? (Just thinking about shifting my build to another site thats all)

On bit-tech, I got by far the most views, though on other forums I got more answers.
The first two are hackintosh-forums, they have as high standarts as in here, but I'd say of all the forums I posted in, bit-tech was the most useful, because in here there are a lot of people that really know what they doing and I got lots of inspiration and trciks from here.
There is nothing against having your log on various sites?

I kind of have to :) my sponsors require it but. I don't see the problem with about 5 sites total.

I wanted to use overclock.net but I was told that i needed to pay a fee because I had sponsors. :(
