...are there any major differences from the UK version? It turns out that Amazon.de works out cheaper for me than Scan or other UK retailers, and I happen to speak German, but maybe it will hurt the reselling value. Sorry for the silly question. I want to pull the trigger on a GTX 770 but it's a lot of money Thanks
Warranty will be honored according to German law, and in case of RMA you will have to send it to Amazon.de for fixing (unless it is a 3rd party seller, in that case you have to send it to seller, unless the card manufacturer allows a different RMA option).
Most RMA bases are in the EU now any way tbh. Asrock and MSI are in The Netherlands and EVGA are in Germany.
I've never had to RMA anything before, so let's hope I'm not 100% sure, because part of me is saying a 670 will do. Probably the EVGA GTX 770 SC with ACX cooler
Get it from Dabs instead, £330 delivered using code Paypal20. http://www.dabs.com/products/evga-g...-pci-e-3-0-hdmi-superclocked-8QLS.html?src=15
Has any one tested these on 1440p? do they need 4GB like the 600 series? THink it was Cryis 2 with Hi textures all maxed and witcher 2 on max that past the 2GB limit.
Hmm.. I already have the order in with amazon. I could probably cancel it but dabs has a woeful reputation in Ireland. I tried to make an account on dabs.com but it seems they want me to use the dabs.ie site, which doesn't seem to have the offer. I appreciate the heads up I'd personally consider 4GB if I was gaming at 1440. I'm not sure how valid this concern is, but with the next gen consoles on the way some of the new games might be more taxing. Here's some reviews though, so far it seems to do quite well even at higher res: Reference card - Bit-tech Reference card - AnandTech Gigabyte Windforce 3x - Hexus EVGA SC ACX - guru3d Here's EVGA's 4GB classified 770
Dabs has a woeful reputation everywhere. They would, they're owned by BT I ordered a 7970 from them last year. At first my CC bounced (£439 was a lot of money it worried !) so I phoned Dabs.... Told them not to try charging the same card until I had it sorted out. Three minutes later I get an email that tried charging the card again and failed. Phoned them again, went through it all again (please cancel the order etc) got another email attempting to charge the same card again. In the end it took three days of jostling and arguing before they finally sorted it.
That kind of thing scares me When I'm buying cheaper gear, I'll shop around for the best price and everything usually works out fine, but this 770 is probably the third most expensive single item I've ever purchased, so I really don't want anything to go wrong. I've used amazon a lot and I've never had a bad experience, a cracked cd case here and there, but nothing major.
Dabs have always been really great for me, and they have a good and efficient RMA process, unlike certain shops who are past winners of the CPC awards...
UPDATE TIME: The card arrived Looks better in real life, compared to the pics and videos. I had to throw the old nemesis at it, Crysis. Everything maxed out (@1080 with 16x AA), it ran smooth. It's awesome
