    Hey,
I've been tolerating an odd humming coming out of my case for a while. My guess is that its the CPU fan, but I thought that id come here, and ask, if maybe its something else.
It hums at a steady "tone", and when im doing something (like watching a movie, or browsing through pictures), the "tone" increases, which sounds to me, like the fan is speeding up.
    Is my CPU too hot?

here are the temps I got recently, from my BIOS:

    CPU Temp: 52 C
    Sys Temp: 39 C
    CPU Fan: 4017 RPM

My computer specs are below in my sig

Oh, I also thought I'd say hello, as I havent been here in a long time.

    Thanks
    mike

Found out it was my qtec psu making a buzzing noise that intensified when i did any thing, including moving the mouse. Only happened when i overclocked tho!

Its probably your harddrive unless your cpu fan is temp controlled...

Or do you leave a CD in your drive all the time? Sometimes then can stay spinning for ages and just give a low hum.
