I would like to keep several folders on 2 PCs synced with each other. Could someone please recommend some free software to do this. Thanks.

The one being mentioned most in that thread is sync toy but I've heard it misses files from time to time with no error message and hasn't been updated in years.

Did you try it and is it any good?

You've got BitTorrent Sync, Dropbox, Skydrive and everything else that syncs folders. BT Sync is still in beta stage but its probably your best bet if the files are large as it works over the P2P protocol.

Thanks. I'll look into BitTorrent Sync.

Let me know how you get on as I haven't had chance to use it yet.

I'd recommend Dropbox, if you need an invite for extra free space just go here: http://db.tt/PkROrKIY

Thanks but I'm not looking for an online option. As stated I just want to keep 2 local pc machines in sync.

Dropbox does work over LAN I think, but you might still need an internet connection.
