I would like to introduce you to my new project, called Ares.

Ares is my entry in Enermax CaseCon-Contest 2013. For all the rules and list od prizes, you can look here: Link

Ares is midtower ATX designed in armour style. I would like to show you my current progress on this project-from concept to current state. By the rule in contest, PSU had to be visible,so I made it visible. :)

Initial laser cutting test has been made, but result was not very good. Material was of poor quality so I had to switch from 8 mm to 6 mm plywood.

Few pics of CNC laser cutter doing it's work.

All parts are sorted. Central structure panels and side panels had to be cut in two pieces since they were too big for CNC. I glued them so they become one piece :)

    Gluing of case stand.

Gluing of central structure. I added radiator mount and rear vents.

Glued rest of the structure. I used books to put some weight on glued pieces. :D

    More books. XD

New parts added-middle support and top parts.

Rest of the case has been glued as well as rear vents.

Try this and you will be able to keep up. XD

    Thank you B NEGATIVE! :thumb:

This time I will use extremely small amount of acrylic in this build-what you see is real case. I will fill all the wood so it is not visible-my goal is to keep weight of the case under 6 kg. ;)

I am back from small break, so it is time for an update. :)

I got rest of parts for side panels-those little pieces are angled to achieve armored look of side panels.

Your builds always look like skelletons, as if it has a backbone. So different from 99% of all mods out there. Always a pleasure to follow.

    Thanks mate. :)

Actually, it is like skeleton structure-since I don't use large one-piece surfaces, all my builds have some structural support embedded. ;)
