Give me a re-release of red alert 1 with some new maps and missions!

The pinnacle of command and conquer.

Shame really because I was enjoying a few games here and there on this. Cant really see why there was so much negativeness towards it. I think it was the F2P model that actually hurt it? Fundementally the last thing you want is an uneven battlefield because the opponent has more IRL money than you.

It's P2W (Pay 2 Win) not F2P. And doing no single player campaigns at all in C&C universe is a nail in the coffin.

The same reason the initially announced XCOM FPS was universally reviled: it doesn't matter if the game was good (it turned out to be crap anyway), it had ****-all to do with the games it was wearing the name of.

Same here. If it's supposedly a Command & Conquer game, then people want a RTS with strong base-building and large numbers of units. To be handed a F2P MOBA-with-tanks with the C&C logo pasted on is not going to go down well.

My thoughts would just be a repeating of what the rep said. They weren't making the game that CnC fans want to play. I used to be involved in the community and IMO EA paid way too much attention to the loudmouths at gamereplays.org who basically hold the opinion that competitive MP is the only body that the RTS genre should inhabit and anything else is garbage. This is a totally false point of view, especially to the CnC fan base who enjoy the SP campaigns way more than MP.

Unfortuantely EA has been unable to find much of a middle ground, outside of RA3, which was great. CNC4 was garbage on all accounts and CnC3 took the series backwards and tried to retcon most of Tib Sun and Firestorm.

As a CnC fan it's frustrating because it's so obvious what they should do with the franchise but they just won't do it.

pretty much Command And Conquer the first decade HD editions with complete bundled map creators with open to create campaigns and scenarios, reworked AI that assaulted in bigger waves each time.

or simply Red Alert 1 + 2 on the new frostbite engine, I wouldn't even mind the original cheesy cut scenes

Still got the whole sound track ripped around here somewhere. Always gets to pumped to play.
