Main use will be for playing games, browsing the web and watching videos.

    1080p

That AOC monitor looks great, but I was under the impression that 1080p above 24" is not so good. :(

Only going to connect the pc to it, so either hdmi/dvi/dp doesn't matter.

Just checked and no wall mount points on the back. Probably because it's so slim :D

I've just bought a Korean X-Star DP2710LED monitor for £195, and I'm blown away with it.

It's got Samsungs PLS display inside it (2560x1440), with its non-aggressive matte coating and beautiful colours/contrast/viewing angles.

The resolution is fantastic and I'm probably going to buy another two of them.

The only downsides are the stand and inputs (only accepts dual-link DVI), but I really don't care as it's only going to be used for my pc.

On mine, I can't see any dead pixels and the backlight bleed is very minimal.

Any customs charges? It may take a few weeks after the monitor arrives before they strike.

Not yet but possibly will do. Even if I get charged £40 customs, I think they're well worth it because they're still half the price of the nearest 2560x1440 display over here.

If there was any customs/VAT charges you would have got them before being allowed to take delivery of the item

I've heard different and that I'll be charged it in a few weeks after delivery from FedEx. But anyway we'll see.

It's not a deal breaker in my eyes.

Only trouble is I already want more res ;-)
