Happy new year ! There is so much expectation to 'go for it' the funniest was when some lad died hanging under a bridge celebrating new years eve. 'woo hoo the new year is upon us'......dead, game over. Have a drink go out if you want but don't be an idiot about it.
The solstice matters (winter can't get any worse), but I can't say that give a flying fu&% about xmas or some random point on the calendar designated as a the new year. No different then the other 364 days; midaswell get drunk.
Happy new year, allthough it's just another day like every other for me, except the two bottles of Veuve Clicquot at €50 a pop I just killed for no special reason. Kind of an old habit to drink those orange labeled bottles of champagne for new year since I'm 16 years old. And orange is allways good

Is there a New Year equivalent to 'bah humbug'? And what about the pollution coming from the thousands of tons of fireworks used each year just to move to another year?
Happy new year everyone. I hope the new year will be a fresh start, and a brighter future, especially for those who have been in a similar boat as me. 2013 was one of my worst years ever, but I pulled through after losing absolutely everything! So moving on from the past, I'm looking forward to the future.
Oh cheer up you grumpy git It's the start of a whole new year and a chance for people to make a fresh start! Compared to the millions of kilograms of pollution that factories dump into the atmosphere every year, a few large fireworks displays are like a drop in the ocean.
I don't get it. Can't people attempt to improve or make a fresh start at any day in the year? On that note, I ought to take my own advice. I shall be less grumpy and spam less, but only when all these festivities are over.
Yes, your theory is sound, but it's not every day that an entire new year starts, and it's traditional to turn over a new leaf with the first day of the year. Frankly I think it ridiculous that people claim not to understand the concept of NY, even if they don't actually celebrate it for whatever reason.
You've got me there. I was just glad once again to be able to spend the festive period with my family and some good friends, and hope to continue doing the same.
