Jackboots on Whitehall 6/10 This so desperately wanted to be Team America, but it just falls way short- crappy dialogue & jokes and plot execution, crappy puppets, and ridiculous ending. Still, mildly amusing and not too long which made it bearable.
Enders Game 7/10 never read the book and had no idea what to expect, not bad but missing something that i cant quite put my finger on.
That's what I was worried about and posted about. I liked the movie because I had read the book, but felt like it would be too much like a series of snapshots rather than a single movie if you hadn't.
Contact ( 1997 ) 8/10 Fascinating film which really does stop and make you think about so many aspects of human endeavour & the wider universe. Also- Jake Busey, scary looking bloke, like his brother Gary...
Or Razer Nostromo since they essentially were the same product. That was the one detail that really killed me. Since I could identify that one product so instantly every time it appeared (it took up the whole screen at times) I found it really distracting.
Crazy Stupid Love was good, might have to give it a rewatch, was really pleasantly surprised. Don Jon I found the accents slightly silly, which made it difficult to take anything anyone said through the entire film seriously (also the content isn't amazing) but it had some funny moments, Scarlett Johansson and lots of nudity so I'm not complaining, about as good as I expected.
Not the usual fast-paced Statham film, but when there's action it's rather good. Recommend watch none the less.
This is the end 6/10 Load of self-indulgent clap-trap for the most part, though it has some genuinely funny moments and Emma Watson wielding an axe. Could have been better but it was what it was...
The Hunger Games - Catching Fire 3/10 as overrated as the first film, and Jennifer Lawrence cant act for ****
Breaking Bad - Disillusioned/10 I'm only part-way through this, about 3 episodes of the 2nd season to go, but I'm not sure I can be arsed with it. The first season was so good, but this second season has just dragged it's arse something chronic. So many tedious scenes of characters doing f-all and having boring, predictable, conversations. There's still the odd cool moment, but right now it's not enough to keep me committed. I know you need character development in a series like this, but it just seems to be going way too far in that direction and not enough of the edgier stuff that made it stand out so much in the first season. No spoilers please, but can anyone persuade me it's worth sticking with?
I felt the same way. I gave up on Season 2, skipped most of it, season end was shitty. Season 3 started not much better. Meh.
Might be difficult without spoilers, but what do you mean 'explained'? It's not that there's random stuff that doesn't make much sense, it's just there's far too much mundane normal life stuff. I get that the chrelationshipsare impotent for developing more plot branches, but it's all just happening so slowly. If there were 3 minute long summaries of each Season 2 episode I'd definitely advise others to give the full episodes a miss. I'm gonna plough on and will report back in Season 3.
Season 2 was a bit slow despite the fact i ran through it in less then 3 days. after that it picked up nicely, overall i enjoyed the story especially when Walter turns badass and goes into Hiesenberg mode!
