Anyone have any idea which Omega line does this watch belong to?

Looks to me like an older Seamaster on a non standard bracelet. I'm not entirely sure on Omega's older stuff though.

End links look nicely matched to the case, it might actually be an OEM bracelet.

I believe its one of their DeVille Prestige watches looking at the bracelet design. Linky here.

Nice watches but not one of the more popular ranges. My only slight query would be that they tend to have DeVille stamped on the front.

Thanks all, it does look very similar. But the model writing isn't there, that's what confused me. The bracelet does have Omega branding on it.

I'm going to get the bracelet re-adjusted, the non-bendy part of bracelet opening mechanism is at an odd position on my wrist.

Having never really owned a watch apart from a random brand digital watch back in secondary school, this is a nice change. I really like the dial movements, it's so smooth and looks so elegant. So far, there appears to be less than 1s slow each day (or perhaps I pushed it in slightly slower, we'll see in the next few days)

I'm assuming that the case back has the omega symbol on it similar to this or this one

Enjoy the watch, cant beat a well made automatic imo.

Well, neither. Mostly plain back, lower half have the same Omega logo engraved as the one on the front. Then on the bottom, what I guess is serial number, starts with 80, 8 digits.

Is it worth getting it serviced? I read they need servicing every 5 years. My wife tells me it she was there when her parents purchased it a while back, then it has been sitting in its box before given to me.

I believe if you contact Omega direct with the serial number they can usually give you model numbers etc.

A service every three to five years is highly recommended for automatic watches to keep them tip-top. Obviously parts do wear over time. If its been sat in a box and not worn I would schedule a service for about 3 years time. Unless they have had it for ten years :D.

Be prepared for quite the cost when you look in to it. Omega and Rolex servicing prices have been going up and up and up over the years, especially direct.

Not sure if I've asked about this before, but does anyone know where I could send a Tissot in the UK to be serviced?

What's the typical servicing charge for a mechanical Watch (not Rolex/Omega etc)? I assume they have to do the same thing whether they have an expensive movement or not? The last time I had one serviced in the 70s it was around £25 for an Oris.

Another place to consider for your Omega would be Duncan at Genesis. Although their prices have also gone up, I believe it still cuts a fair bit off a direct service price. Duncan is a brilliant guy and his work is top notch.

It's probably going to be cheaper to bin this and buy another when it needs a service. It only cost £68

Shouldn't be that expensive to have a basic service on an entry level Miyota. Even then, the movement itself is on Ebay now for £23 (albeit from Greece).
