Wow those plexi frames to keep it all together look very nice. Great idea as well to just use clear plexi this way.
Hello everyone ! Quickly some news, this week-end I'll probably finish what I'm working on since 2 weeks, that is ... a removable MB support !! This part was longer than expected, I didn't imagined how many problems I must solved to make it possible, and as I must be one of the first to try this, I couldn't inspire me on another projects ! I can't wait to show you all of this !!
Sweet! looking forward to see your solution since I'm planning to do a similar solution! Keep it up! Great work!
thanks, I hope it will continue ! My solution is basic but it work ! I hope you won't be disappointed So it's time for a Big Update !! I just finish my MB support which ask me a lot of work, this is some pictures of the realization !! For this removable system, the support must be slide inside two rails small scratches fo improve the gluing then the gluing with epoxy the plexi frame which come from www.thelaserhive.com her thickness is 5mm, exactly like my U profil the long hole for PCI cards (yes this is a Geforce 4 AGP ) installation of the I/O shield a little to bigger so realization of a metallic frame to solidify then some cutting some M3 inserts to fix the I/O shield and the result After that, I decide to realize another hole to simplify the mounting of the CPU cooler
Suite we continue with the cut of the back of the case and... : there is no photos ! I totally forgot to take some pictures but it continue with the cut of the backpanel done ! The gluing of the 2 rails inside the case Voila, all the parts are now done, just need to mount all together !! The I/O shiels on the plexi board the lian li PCI square the backpanel with the Prolimatech fan the result This support is done, but I'll probably change the plexi board for another withoud the long hole for PCI cards because it seems too fragile.
I'm not sure if I like the motherbard-tray and the new backside. You spend lot's of time conservating all the detail in the front and then you go and redo the back with a - in my oppinion - non-matching backpanel. Would've loved to see you redrilling all the holes in the back aswell to keep the G5-looks from all angles.
Thanks a lot for your kind comments !! I really appreciate. Thanks a lot too for your comment, I must admit you totally right about the design. For me, the conception I choose for this removable tray can't be adapted with conserving all the original holes (maybe too fragile). But as you said, this is the back of the case, and I prefer to had this option (removable tray) rather a better design for this hidden side. I still hope you'll like the next !
Hello here ! It's time for an UPdate !! This is how I realized the middle plate inside the case for mounting SSD ! Here too I have choosen a 4mm plexiglass plate First bend with the help of the exterior of the case the cutting on the left is for the IEC plug a little more of cutting and bending It's not finish, but this is a first rendering for checking with the PSU then, some cuttings on an aluminum plate Realization of the SSD's bracket all the parts are now over and mounted and installed IEC plug Voilà ! Hope you like the result !!
I doff my cap to you on this good day, for your skills are other worldly. Un-ferkin-believable. I love it.
Holy crap this is nice!!!!!!!! Can't wait for more!!! Really epic man!!! Damn.... *picks jaw up off the floor*
You've got some serious craftsmenship and artistic talents sir The combination of the alu and the clear acrylic looks stunning, and the precision is excellent. Still not liking the backplate tho.
wow! Such great work! subbed! can't wait to see this finished. Makes me wanna pull my MacPro mod out the loft and actually finish it. J.
Thanks for your comment ! I'm actually thinking about the window on the door, I hope have enough time this week end to realize the cut ! Also, I'm waiting for my new 3mm aluminum plate to replace the plexi plate of my MB tray And of course, I can thanks David Chugg from www.thelaserhive.com for all his services
