Stunning light on those two Chris, and damn good focusing - manual or auto?

Those windows are indeed quite something Thaifood. What did you shoot with?

From me: one from last month, the cabin of a Challenger 605 bizjet

I get the best results with the AF set to single point continuous focusing. Yeah, this band was playing right as the sun went down so some really great light. I rarely get to shoot at ISO 200 for concerts... ever.

Ah. Without sounding like too much of a dick, you could probably get better results with that setup  Particularly if you can add a tripod.

    Anyway, here's another:

Oh yes completely agree. I didn't take much time with the shot. Was walking past and took a photo of it. :)
The picture for me just doesn't feel/look very sharp but oh well.. Will take a tri pod next time

Another play around with a picture

A little something from last night. Inspired by Marilyn Monroe's Playboy shoot.

Water is one of our most precious resources on Earth, and while walking through Las Vegas I was reminded of how much water and energy is consumed here on a daily basis. Here the lights from Paris are reflected in the Bellagio fountain waters, a constant reminder that it takes a lot of energy to run a city that never sleeps.

A couple more pictures from my trip. In reverse order, first up is Houston as seen during the descent into Hobby Airport.

The next photo is Canyonlands National Park as seen from just over 30,000 feet. I was on a business trip to attend a series of meetings, as well as the National Association of Broadcasters show. At my meetings, I gave a presentation in which I used a recent photo of Canyonlands National Park taken from ISS. Coincidentally, my flight was routed from Houston through Denver, and during the Denver-Las Vegas flight we happened to fly over the exact same area. I couldn't pass up the opportunity, and both images made it into the presentation.

Another, this one I'm quite fond of for (I think) obvious reasons:
