After a long spell of dreary days and quite the build up of road grime, blue car is once again blue.

I might have to get every car I ever own in future in this colour, I can't see me ever getting bored of it.

Thank you sir. That would be BMW Azurite Black (F01 7er)

It could pass for black on a dreary day or when it's dirty, though (for example). I might have to move to UAE and hire a live-in detailer.

Ah I forgot that you'd got a 7er - It's amazing in the sun. That colour is going on the short list :thumb:

Wouldn't a live-in detailer be handy! :hehe: I did so much work at the car yesterday that I'm sore this morning.

I would imagine he's seen the modern metallic shades being as soft as I have! A purpley XF my Dad had used to get scratched with the air rushing over it. Lovely colour, but absolutely impossible to keep looking nice.

Apparently it's all down to the switch from cellulose to acrylic-based 2-pack.

Interesting point about the softness of modern metallic paint. I wonder if body shop 2-pack has the same hardness as factory paint?

I ordered a genuine Renault track rod end kit and a top mount cover this afternoon, and will be fitting them on Friday when I get access to the 2-poster.

I remember what you said about that colour, Amethyst Black was it? I was a little concerned at the time, though I've not had the same issues.

11k miles later and nothing to note, fortunately.

Not as fancy as what some of you have, but it is quite an upgrade from my 1.2 Clio that was rear ended in a smash. 1.6 Sport HDi, 40k on the clock. Getting new discs and pads all round along with a starter before I pick it up. Also has a full panoramic roof.

That's the one! Not present on most of their other colours apparently, he swapped it for a Sportbrake in a darkish silver (Osmium?) and that's completely scratch-free at 6 months...

A full year on and I still can't stop grinning when driving it :)

She goes in for her first service next week having just ticked over 12k miles.

Looking into the possible addition of Bluefin & a nice Cat Back after I was quoted £850 fitted for the MP215 kit by the garage doing the service.

Hopefully the weather will stay nice this weekend so we can have a nice blast and take some decent pictures with out new camera.

I wouldn't bother with any kind of remap on a NA engine. You will be lucky to get 2BHP gain.
Only turbocharged cars see a big increase of HP with a remap.

I still have my Focus ST170 which is only nippy once you get it over 5K rpms, but still fun when you're driving it in that band. :)

It's good that it is a 1.6 Turbo then.... :p

Bluefin takes it up to around 230BHP (from 200 w/overboost).

I'll let you off then! :D

In that case its worth doing, but you will end up being more lead footed with the extra power! ;)

(almost forgot to post the photos here)

I cleaned and clayed my RX-8 this week end. Still proud of the result :D
Some of you may remember the Accord. I wanted to show the contrast between a clean car and one that just went through a Canadian winter

    Very nice Knuck!

I still hold firm to my opinion that the RX8 is one of the nicest looking cars out there. Would love to have a drive in one.

    thanks mate

yeah it looks good but it's not exactly the way I wish it was. My ultimate goal was to get one like this

but this model (R3) comes with recaro racing seats and I can't even reach the bottom with my fat ass :hehe:

also the r3 is less equiped than my GT

It still looks awesome when clean, though. The color is Sparkling Mica Black. It sparkles a lot under direct sunlight :)

Give the guys at Boostjunky a call, they've done some maps and turbo-back exhausts for those that're quite nice ;)
