I'm still going to go for orange with mine but was thinking semi-glare. May well go matte now...

I don't know what the semi and the glare look like in the flesh. I'm pretty sure, whatever you go for, it will look mint. There is not too much weight to these cases, maybe it will feel a bit more substantial with switches and parts.

so who's going to stump up for the awful looking asus mechanical keyboard? someone's gotta do it in the name of keyboard science.

I guess it will probably end up being me :D

Is that the Echelon? I might grab a second hand one at some point, but I'd only buy a new keyboard at that sort of price if I knew it was going to rock my socks.

I don't think it's that disgusting to the point where I want to scoop my eyeballs out, but the wrist rest would bring me close...

Heh, a Margo mod. Kewl. :D
Those enamelled(?) mods look particularly lovely too.

Not a problem Matticus, glad you like it. :thumb:
Yeah, they're NIQmods. Car paint on plastic caps. They are for sale btw, though I really like them with these caps so I'll probably keep them for a while.

Anyone got a white on black centre stemmed capslock in Cherry/GMK profile?

I didn't even know Asus had one... looked it up. I don't see any reason anyone should bother. It's just yet another iOne U9 reference model with an Asus logo slapped on it.

Does anyone want to sell me enough clear switches to fill a 60% board?

Every RGB that isn't from Corsair will be Kailh. Due to the exclusivity deal Corsair is the only place Cherry is shipping RGB MX to this year. It might change next year when the deal is up but we will have to wait and see.
While it is possible someone could use 4leg RGB led in traditional MX switch, it would require quite a bit of manual hand assembly (2 legs in led holes, 2 legs hand bent to fit in the diode holes) and I don't think that's really feasible for any commercial keyboards.
