Thanks Margon, stepping up to the plate once again! :D

    My my what a dilemma...

The FC660 with those posh caps (i.e the only one they have in stock) comes out at £162.25 including shipping.

The HHKB is on eBay for £177.09 including shipping.

Both items may be subject to customs charges so they are basically identical! So if they are the same price which one do I go for!?

Margon is your leopold topre or cherry?

Also this looks pretty cool for a couple of Topre caps...

PFU color key top set (HHKB Professional series only) PD-KB400KT01 Japanese NEW

I don't have a leo at all! I have only a hhkb that is topre.

I would of thought though that hhkb > leo.

Those are nice, but, I think they are a lot of money for not many caps. Doesn't stop me wanting them though for my hhkb :D I have nearly bought a set a load of times. I'm secretly hoping that one day some come to me for not very money or some kind of trade.

The FC660C they have in stock at EK doesn't have the blank caps though :(

I'd probably go for a HHKB if push came to shove, but I do think the layout of the 660 is pretty cool!

Yes Rosewill mini is same thing as Tex. I thought newegg was actually operating in UK as in have a warehouse and ship from there etc... not just accept UK order and ship from USA or something.

No, they aren't actually operating from here :( Which makes the whole thing kind of pointless, as their prices are cheaper, but not after taxes etc.

I do like the HHKB, especially the off white blanks! But I worry that not having a left ctrl where it should be and arrow keys would make things a bit difficult when gaming and stuff (I'm a gaming editor, so I do 50/50 gaming and typing).

That's why I was thinking the Leopold looks awesome!

-A LED insert key that doubles up as a recording key
-Left ctrl (although I'm not sure this even matters, it's just in a different place)
    -Arrow keys
    -Delete AND backspace

Maybe I'm just crazy... I need to find someone that has a Leopold t sell. Any luck with your friend Margon? :p

True, but I dunno, one more key for games and all that. Have you tried playing DayZ? :p

Where do you get your topre keycaps from Margon?

Impatience, the one flaw in my plan to ship out the Cougar is that at present I don't actually have a spare keyboard to use at home :blah:

Weak excuse I know, and as soon as I can requisition a half decent spare I will be making the Cougar available for field trips, but in the meantime I could send you little taster pack:

Not quite the same thing, but I'll include a keycap so you can get some idea of the feel. Let me know if you want these to try out.

Nickel arse, do you need a lend of a board for a short while? You can borrow my Ducky 1087 for a bit if you need it?

I can lend you a fullsize ISO browns or blues board shirt, browns if you want a backlight and blues if you don't. the backlit browns board has those delicious purple caps on it.

So many options from the two likely suspects, what a pair of gents! Deep thanks to you both, but our new friend is going to play with the naked switches first, so the Cougar will stay planted to my desk for the time being.

I'll sort out a cheap spare at some point in the near future, nearly bought that Keycool that went for £40 odd on eBay the other day :D

Impatience, drop me a PM with your postal address and I'll get the sample pack out to you tomorrow, along with an envelope to send them back in when you've evaluated. I'll pay the outbound postage if you could pay for their return?

The keycap you will receive is a thick PBT dyesub from my Leopold, which will give you an unrealistic expectation of what keycaps should be like :D
