Hardware Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 Review Roundup: feat. ASUS, EVGA and MSI

I wish they'd released a version with the stock Nvidia cooler. Oh well, 980 here we go!

 

Might finally be the time to upgrade my 8800 GT!

Gainwards Phantom looks good and has HDMI, DVI and 3x DPI!

I have you beat! I had the non-Ti 560. Good lord, this card is fantastic! Funny thing: One of the first games I played was Eve Online. I turned all the settings to max, and the card barely noticed. Assuming GPU-Z is accurate.

One thing to note for people with an Antec P182 case who are thinking of buying one: The lower handles of the upper hard drive cage collided with the heat sink on the MSI card. I wasn't using it anyway so I just took the cage out, but it's something you should be aware of.

 

I notice on EBuyer the price of the MSI R9 290 has had £90 knocked off it with other cards also having big cuts.
So, given I can pick up a MSI R9 290 for £254 which should I get? This MSI NVidia GTX 970 for £275 the MSI R9 290 for £254???

 

Love how my EVGA GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0 is always in the lead over the other 970's!

 

I'm seriously tempted by the MSI.

 

How does Zotac GTX 970 fares in comparison ?
