    UPS table mount. Power ON

    Some progress…

    At first, kit for rust imitation:

    And then UPS table mount. Accumulators and UPS printed circuit board installed, wiring completed and power on:

    Part of printed circuit board with RJ-45 protection was deleted (lack of inner space)

    Next time UPS table mount final assembly!

    Well, its time to make turret’s gun.
    Barrel – aluminum body from pocket flash, flame arrester –permanent marker cap, threading parts - indicator light, PVC tube – light diffuser (filled with silicon):

    It's alive!

    Finally, ready to test assembly. Doesn’t looks like a turret, but operable )

    Front part of video card housing – target aimer with machinegun barrel. Red light – power indicator, blue light – hard disk activity indicator.

    PCI-e x16 riser used, 100mm length. Temporarily, turbine from video card housing now cooling CPU radiator (CPU cooler in the housing alongside):

    Visual sensor system

    A visual sensor system (turret from HL2):

    Originally, this part has to detect intruders in its sight line. I used a domestic proximity IR sensor and controller with RGB-led.

    RGB-led status (depending of the systems state):
    • continuous green – no intrusion detected (no target)
    • flashing red – intrusion possibility detected (searching target)
    • continuous red – intrusion detected (target identified)


    Generally, visual sensor system looks like outdoor camera with IR-backlight:
