    Thank you Steve! Means much to me to still have your support!
    I have since made good progress but do not have a lot of pictures, but will scavenge what I can, and post an update soon!

    Update #12 :: Almost there!

    27 December 2014

    =================================

    =================================

    Here follows pleasure.

    It's been slow but I am getting there, and more quickly now. I would say that I am 90% done.
    The most important thing that happened is that the side panels took shape. A few planks were joined with glue and biscuits and the entire panel was cut out of that.

    [IMG]
    [IMG]

    I also made a new, more integrated motherboard tray:

    [IMG]

    Both panels are fitted to the case with screws going through the panel and fixed to the body, very simple. Edges were bevelled for a smooth look.

    I installed two rpm setting knobs: One for the radiator fan and one for the pump. These are mounted internally for aesthetic purposes. I will install a T-Balancer Mini some time (have it laying around).

    [IMG]

    I realised that the curve from the upper-front inner panel were conflicting with the look I was going for and also made the side panel window design look odd. This panel was then modified slightly, so have a corner in the curve:
    Much better!

    [IMG]

    Then I could draw the final panel cutouts:

    [IMG]

    Let the cutting commence!
    The two back corners of each cutout were formed into a more interesting and stylish way.

    [IMG]

    Here is how the case currently stands:

    A small detail I added is a name plate [Proxima] one the one side panel:

    [IMG]

    Other things I did includes adding LED's to the reservoir, sleeve some cables, removing fan stickers, paint the reservoir outside (only the sides) black and add an aluminium backplate.
    I installed a custom made and fitted power switch on the top of the case as well.

    Shot of the reservoir lights:

    Next up will be fitting the glass (GLASS), and the rear panel mesh, then finishing off the panels. :clap:

    coming along very nicely and some really great handy work

    I loved machine work, but when someone does something by hand, it just makes the appeal so much better

    gonna be any other lighting besides just the res?

    :thumb: Thanks man!
    I also think it is a marvellous product!
    Thank you! Yes I agree with you, making something by hand and power tools requires much bigger sacrifice and effort.
    I might add in some dim white LED's somewhere but that I will see once the thing is done.

    This is amazing. I always love casemods that use wood and I try to do that myself as much as possible. Wood in casemods is somehow very appealing to me. Cannot wait to see the end result!!

    Thanks Ianvski, I have looked at your woodwork mod and it's very well done. I also like projects with wood - it brings in a modern look.

    The next update will be final pictures :D so nothing until then!

    You could always buy it at a price once it is done.. haha. The side panels have been stained and finished to fit with the rest of the wood strips and it looks amazing.

    No money bro, no money.

    Speaking of the side panels, what kind of wood did you use ? I'm currently working on an audio setup (DAC, Preamp, Power Amp, Headphone Amp) and I love the colour and grain of your panels. Considering doing something similar (wood + aluminium).

    Sorry to disappoint, but I have no idea/can't remember. It is a name I've never heard before and forgot within a week after buying it. It's not hardwood though so it's easy to work with. It was not expensive.

    edit: I looked through the catalog of the supplier and I think it's kossipo wood

    No Problem. From google image, it looks the same as on your pics. I'm not there yet, barely started the headamp design (lack of time).

    Anyway, can't wait to see your case finished :thumb:. Good luck bro.
