Part 3 looks great Macro and I like what you did in terms of redesigning the front bezel and using makeup containers for the feet. I'm wondering if the EL your using suffers from the annoying humm generated by most 12v interters? Its the reason why I have only used EL in one of my mods.

    <reaches for Avon catalogue>
just think of all the other mods possible with these cases.
we dont just want a load of macro-black case look-a-likes use your heads people.
Inspiration! (that case is so sweet though i understand why people would copy it)
    :D

    Allrighty then....
my first plan for a semi-mod. i like this one cos if i screw up, it dont matter, and if i dont screw up, its pointless anyway!

i will admit first that this is Macroblack inspired, but after seeing that, its hard to come up with anything original. the idea comes from the biohazard on the side of the case, and does involve some originality.

    Project Isotope:
-Spray my case gloss black, and if possible, the trim (dunno if itll spray) matt black.
-Print out a "Radioactive" symbol, and use it as a mask, get a friend of mine with a dremel & jigsaw to hack it out, smooth it off.
    -Respray around edges
-Fit EL-Sheet to back of side-panel, over the logo
    -Wire up appropriate EL junk
-Fit a tinted filter over ELSheet if too bright
-Wire up so comes on with PC.
-Turn off lights, sit and stare for a while

i am considering having some of that "only seethru when lights behind it" stuff over it too, could look good but i dont want to push it.

criticise away. macroman i could really use your opinion on this. PS i have an identical case to replace it if i screw up.

Sounds good to me but I would suggest doing all the cutting before spraying. That way you only do it once and will get a perfect finish.

    Oops

For some reason i just didnt see that one.
<notices brain cell dying of lonliness>

hmmm. thx for pointing that out. i probably would have gone straight on and done it that way otherwise!

    just a few requests:
    • Paint recommendations for just a bog-standard biege case
    • should i sand it down first (get all the old paint off)
    • cutting the logo: dremel or jigsaw?
    • info on the light-filter stuff you used
    • anythin else i might wanna kno

    thx

    Project Isotope
    It WILL Hurt

 two words : OMFG OMFG!

I love it, the mirror finish, the fibre optic lights, the.. well everything, I am so jealous and I bow to your modding skill.

I joined here just to say that!

After seeing this I now want to throw my new shiny black windowed athlon 1.4 into the trash and start something else.

Iv'e always like the Mac G4 cube idea, and am thinking of doing that type of thing, now I know how I could do it but being out of cash it will have to wait.

Again great job, an I am certain I will steal some of your Ideas.
